Years ago, people sent millions upon millions of dollars worth of food and medical supplies to Ethiopia...
Watching the videos of what happened when the cargo planes landed, was disheartening to say the least. The militias were there to confiscate the food and supplies, and
only a very small portion made it to the starving people.
Similar story with the monies that were sent. Much of the money had to be paid out in the form of bribes, to the regional governments, in order for the supply planes to be allowed to land.... Only to have the militias steal everything.

well I have to disagree^^.. in some small way.. we as a society are to blame.... leaders and corporations bow to our will... I mean that is once we stop being such a sheep.... just my opinion..

it's a viscous cycle..your probably right but we can't put all the blame to the leaders..some people as well not paying attention to their taxes, uncontrolled population and etc...just saying..

I happen to disagree with this. Corporations DO NOT now to the people. They are master manipulator who control the people willing to bow to their greed. Most people however do not have the courage or the monetary funds to fight them because they have bought off all the government officials which could help others! jMHO

know its not the blame game and I do remember we give aid to some governments take for their soldiers or themselves then others who they decide but very little to whom it was suppose to get to ...



no ... say for instants country's ...who do not have water or any means to grow food becouse of where they may live... why would countries be created like that ... when its just where they where born ... and that climate ... not running from anything just thats where they are ... and possibly no where else to go ... thats like dropped in the desert with no water ... why where countries made like that ...

Humans breed out of control. You take a part of the world that has had the ability to support 1 million humans for maybe a thousand years, add healthcare to improve the viable birthrate, and boom, the population doubles, triples, etc., till famine sets in. Is it the rest of the world's fault for not feeding ever how many people are born? Or is it the population's fault for not matching population with available resources?

the more jurisdictions that are created the more money is to be made by those in governmental power...from the largest metropolis to the smallest hamlet it is a division of the people by imaginary boundaries designed by those who seek power and justification of their mere existence...it is like a giant pyramid scheme....the world leaders at the top, all the way down to the african village shaman on the bottom level....with all sorts of middlemen in between...all of them extracting (one way or another) their pay from those who do the real work of the world...as the old saying goes...divide and conquer....

So, why depend on governments to help when private charities do a better job?

I agree. I just wanted to remind people that private charities succeed where governments fail.

If it's hunger games then there's not enough food in this world to supply all needs. If mingle set up a charity, I don't mind supplying the seeds. Relocate & start planting.

Countries are made after people live there. In hindsight.
A country is just the borders the population within the borders agree upon and are willing to defend.
They don't "make" famine countries and then ask people to move there...

Some countries will always suffer extreme famine and poverty...The problem is not about having enough food, quantitatively there is enough food to feed the entire world population...Famine and poverty will always exist in some countries because of the numerous factors that play a role...Natural disasters, war, poverty traps, infrastructure, exploitation of the environment and corruption all contribute to the harsh levels of poverty found in underdeveloped or developing countries...It doesn't matter how much money developed countries throw at the problem, wealth depends on trading goods and services and trade depends on infrastructure and infrastructure depends on investment opportunities and investment opportunities depend on things like geographical factors, political factors, cultural and social factors...Achieving sustainable development s the only real fix and in many countries, that is either not possible yet or is going to take time, lots and lots of time...

Your question about why these countries exist is even more complex, but the reality is they exist because of things like culture, opportunity (lack of), logistics, colonization and environment....

kinda ... thats what I mean... why did our creator per say do that to people ... or thats the way it just worked out after the world started to evolve ... but I still really don't understand why some are and where left for that kind of life to lead ... in places where some where just meant to die becouse of their own part of the country where they where born and stayed ...
