I keep getting these pop ups coming on when I'm on Mingle.
It doesn't happen on any other page like football or the news etc.
I've ran a scan with my anti virus but it showed nothing.
So, my question is, is it the Mingle site itself that has this problem.

By the way, these pop ups are all in Russian (I think) so I can't even tell you what they are saying.

I was getting them too Joe, on my laptop, not long after they upgraded this site last month. Traced it through my Avast security to having clicked on an underlined link when I was quoting a post. Gotta watch mate, as my webcam clicked when it wasn't turned on. So I switched the internet connection off and sorted it asap!

It's doing my head in. Every time I click on a post or anything else they come on.

I've had hundreds of spam come in every time I'm in here and it wasn't happening until this last up date.

You may have a point there. I wouldn't be surprised if all dating sites are bugged.

We haven't added pop-up ads, we haven't made any drastic changes with respect to our banner ads, and we still do not share email addresses with other companies (unless you opt into our co-registration offers, of course). That noted, we always look into any potential abuse by an advertiser if there is a pattern.`

I beg to differ Charles, as my security on my laptop traced it to being picked up from this site, 100%

I quoted a post Charles and never noticed that in the post a word had a blue underline. It was about the time you upgraded the site last month. Then those annoying pop-ups started. Got it sorted, but my webcam did click, as if it was taking a picture. Thank goodness it wasn't the laptop that I use for my work though!

I use Adblock plus in my browser which gets rid of most pop-ups. I had those underlined words a while back and had to clear it from my browser (it had added as an extension) then do a malware search to get rid of it.

Hi everyone,

We don't have any pop up ads on Mingle2 and don't use any invasive advertisers. Since this is not happening to everyone, can you guys provide a little more information for us to debug the problem?

1. What browser are you using when the pop ups happened? Or the russian ad? (Firefox/chrome/safari/IE/etc)

2. Was this happening on any specific pages? For example, always happening when you log in, or when you read your mail, or when you are playing mutual match etcetc.

3. Were you on your laptop? or phone?

4. If any of you can please take a screenshot of it when it happened (a picture of what it is), and share it with us, that would be greatly appreciated. ( jean@minglenet.com )

We want all of our members to be happy and have a great experience using this site. We are sorry for any headache this may have caused and want to resolve the issue for you guys as soon as possible. But since it's not happening to 99% of our users, it's difficult to figure out exactly why it's happening until we have a little more information.

Thank you for all of your help!
Jean
