Says what they mean. Does their damndest to do what they say.
Doesn't B.S. Doesn't take advantage of someone weaker.
Integrity; need more?

I think the world of someone when they apologize for being wrong.

Just something I've always admired

I taught my son since he was young, I might not like the truth but I will respect that you had the courage to tell the truth.

When you lie, you are in trouble for what was done AND the lie

To me, liars are cowards

I know it's cliche and said ALL THE TIME.....to not lie. To be able to always be truthful (not including the little white lies to make someone's day brighter). for me, if someone can be truthful in all things, including admitting when they are wrong then they are a very strong person and anything else can usually be worked through.

takes courage (IMO) to own the truth. Either be sorry or stand by it.

Liars can't face the truth. Anyone can lie. I can tell a tale tale for fun but if I did something...it's mine to own

I believe the courage to face our fear. Many of the posts here are in that vein.

To Yellowrose10:

I teach my child "D.A.R.E to Think for Yourself"

It's sarcastic twist on the D.A.R.E. program from Nancy Reagan.

bye now...

There seem to be few in the world who are "Sincere and Serious". This to me indicates strength, strength of character. They are Genuine.

Yes but we don't have to be serious to be sincere. I do enjoy a good laugh and a bit of crazy but I also own up when I'm wrong and I do my best not to lie although the little ones can slip out - especially when you don't want to hurt someone's feelings. The truth is a double-edged sword.

I agree with you. I guess I like laughter that happens spontaneously in life; and it comes in abundance even when we are completely genuine.

Not knowing me in person would make my first statement difficult to relate too. I'm always very relaxed and smile a lot, even when multi-tasking very technical tasks. I'm always relaxed and natural, and never manifest a rigid, seriousness.

What I loathe in people around me is the babbling of nonsense and laughing like fools all the time. Sincerity is too reveling for them; they are hiding much darkness inside behind all this nonsense and pointless laughter. Exhausting the heart meridian too.

I always prefer not to speak, if possible, rather than rely on white lies, because I'm too honest. I choke on even the little ones.

I hope this doesn't sound over-critical...

Not at all.

A wise old owl sat in a tree
The more he heard, the more he listened
the more he listened, the more he heard
Why aren't we all like that wise old bird!

Genuine  for you

"Strength in a Person", as I see it, lies in 'her/his' incessant endeavor to seek the 'courage' she/he lacks!flowerforyou

Strength is many facets to a person's
character.

The ability to own one's very own words, rather they be written or spoken.

The ability to own one's actions, without denial or blaming others.

The ability to stand on one's own feet. Regardless of what honest work they do for a living.

I've seen it posted, that it takes strength to apologize for mistakes.
I agree with that.

Can't recall where, but I've also seen it posted somewhere, that it takes strength to retract an apology, if it was coerced in any way.

Facets...

strength is getting up when you are knocked down

strength is achieving in spite of and not because of

strength is treating humans with respect, regardless of their financial status or gender, or race, or sexual preference

Strength is the courage to stand alone in your beliefs and not follow the herd mentality.

Ms Harmony, what is your educational background?
