Says the teenage age girlnis a granddaughter. Could be any where from 13-18 yr old. I can only assume the granddaughter (or someone she told) called the cops after finding her cat in the freezer.

I am unclear of the sexist part though. She is a grandmother that killed cats to punish her grandkids. I'm sure she has legal rep even if it's court appointed

The media pushes the sexist aspect of it. As if women do not commit crimes, especially violent ones.
So they jump all over it.
The first we hear, no matter if it is a crime, a political leader, a Hollywood personality... if it is about a woman...
It is, WHO her man is, how many kids & grandkids, as if ' FAMILY' is her identity.
In this case, 4 grandkids & the teenager are part of the case, so it is revenant.
Usually it is not. Usually we don't hear anything about a man's children.
It is almost as if we hold women to a higher moral level , or an additional one (family) than men.
So in these aspects, I think the media is sexist.

She should have if she take care of give it to animal shelter that would find it good home. Duh. It was pretty stupid of grandmother to a do that.And the mother should not bother her but send her nurse home or place that is and get paid baby sitter indeed.

Personally, I'm glad she did that to the cats.

I can't tell you how many feral cats we have running around my neighborhood and all over the city.

If they were eating the roof rats that would be great.

But they aren't.

They're just running around the neighborhoods peeing and marking everything, living in the sewers, procreating like mad, destroying property, and being a nuisance.

People just drop off litters and litters of cats in a cart in the middle of petco, or on the other side of town, or just stop feeding them after letting them outside.

IMO cats are pretty much the same as any other kind of vermin around here.
We don't have raccoons, we have cats.

I would much rather the lady killed them then just dropped them off somewhere, kicking the can down the road.

I know the feral cat problem around here is probably primarily due to laws, but they were pets at one time.

Although, I do feel if she's going to kill the cats she could at least eat them, or look up recipes on the internet and make a nice little catserole for the local homeless shelter.

Sadly, women are on a higher plane morally. This is illustrated by the great disproportion of male criminals to female criminals in the justice system. Do men have more social pressures or does testosterone play some part in it?

I don't think women are on a higher plane morally. I think the MEDIA & (the left overs) of a puritanical SOCIETY puts them there.
* We won't be hearing how many kids & grandkids the biker gang has, or how much child support they owe.... etc... the FAMILY bs is almost always laid on the woman, as if it is her identity, her worth, her responsibility & she is supposed to love it & answer for it*
Sadly, in this case, the woman does.
Even though her crime was NOT to a human.

Ok I will say it

1 there are no kill shelters or find a home for them

2 putting to sleep (even though I don't like it) is better than bashing over the head...hello mcfly

3 sure she might be stressed but seriously? That's an excuse? You don't punish kids like this or be cruel to animals. Life for many is stressful. You can't imagine my world but I don't look to hurt anything

4 this isn't sexist. Grow up. Worse have been posted about men. Yes women can be sick or just down right evil

5 no one knows why she had the kids. Could be her son is a thug in jail and mom dead. Who knows. Grandma allowed the cats and used them to punish kids!
