must be good news,,, an exec. v.p. wouldn't call ya in to tell ya you are not getting a job,,, think positive and exude the same attitude,,, piece of cake, go get em,,, It's just weird. I Interviewed initially with a local Manager, the regional manager. Then I was told that they have a job offer for me they are just working out the salary and I will know by last Friday. Well Friday came around and they called and said this guy wants to interview me. Doesn't make much sense............ Holy crap, now it all makes sense. I Got the job btw. Job offer is signed and I start Tuesday. I now know why I had all those interviews. I applied to be just an Full Time Store Detective after the first interview I was flagged as management material, they just didn't tell me. The offered me the job as the Assistant Loss Prevention Manager over three stores (it's really one store but its separated into three parts of the mall), with a nice salary and with a projection date of them relocating me to become the Loss Prevention Manager of my own store\stores, with a complete relocation package. It is all in writing. I have been in Loss Prevention since 1997 and have been in Management before but nothing on this scale. I was literally blown away. Hopefully when I relocate it will be near a couple of my mingle buddies like SJSoul, Leigh, Willing2 or a couple others so I have some friends locally

Ahhhh, could be that there's another opening either coming up or a shift in personnel where the VP feels you'd be better suited for; with that many interviews you've most likely impressed some one 'UP THE CHAIN' of hierarchy!!! It's happened to my husband & I before; you just never know --- Positive Thoughts and best of luck! You were right on the money! I am so damn stoked. It's also not the typical type of Management job where your behind a desk 27/7. 70% of my time I will be out there catching the people stealing (and another bonus they are hands on with handcuffs taking people down if need be, my current job doesn't allow that at all) and working on internal theft cases. The other 30% is General Admin\Management stuff. It's the perfect job for me. Everyone there is so awesome and work together really well. Usually in this line of work you get a bunch of Alpha Males trying to have di#k measuring contests and there is nothing like that here. |

I got the job! I am into my 3rd week now and it is kicking my a$$. I have been doing this for years and I am a cocky SOB but wow, I didn't think it would be this challenging and demanding. I am loving it!
It is making me look back and realize how easy I had it at my last couple of jobs, I only had to answer for myself now I have to answer for myself the 10 employees under me and three stores. Ugh! Plus they are on me to catch internal theft, shoplifters, ORC on top of the management duties, the meetings, conference calls etc. It's tough but I love every minute of it. The only thing that I am trying to figure out how to deal with is one of the guys who has been with the company for many years applied and interviewed for the job and obviously didn't get it. He is an awesome employee but not ready for management so I am the outsider. All of these people have worked together for at least four years and I beat out one of their own for the job. I got to find a way to earn their respect. |
