Will you ever write a book on yourself?

In the last few years, you all have shared thoughts here or in other social media as blogs or posts. If anyone compiled all your writings in some order, the words could typically portray you and your beliefs, interests and everything you stand for. Give these to a psychologist and he would describe your personality reading between the lines!!

Though there might be an element of pretense discussing controversial or exclusively personal subjects but over a period of time; you tend to reveal yourself through your posts. But all that you write, over time, fades away into oblivion.

Having written numerous posts in forums and some articles in print, I have lately realized had I utilized this time writing a book on what I figured my life and this world was all about, it would give me great pleasure presenting a copy of it to my children and possibly grand children in the future.

I plan to do it nevertheless.

Would you also like to gift an autobiography to your descendants? Or, what other tangible ways could you leave behind your legacy as?

I could never write an autobiography about myself. There are some very hurtful memories, that I don't want to remember. Memories that I WISH I couldn't remember. I'd like to have an off switch in my brain.

I could never write one either. If I did it would be very boring

My life is interesting at best... Alot of adventures and I have been working on my story with a author... Its not boring thats what I have been told...

Not really, IMO.

If you look closely you will see people tend to ask and/or answer the same questions over and over.

Especially on internet forums. Most especially on dating site forums.

All you get online is the tip of an iceberg. A snowflake size tip.
But people like to blow that up and pretend it's meaningful.
Because it then makes them meaningful.


Give these to 100 different psychologists and they would describe your personality in 100 different ways.


I disagree.
At best you can have a consistent opinion.
But a consistent opinion does not a person make.

If you already know someone, you can look at "posts" or whatever they put online, and have it validate what you already know.

But just as important as looking at what someone chooses to respond to, is how they respond to what they don't want to, how someone interacts with a situation they don't have complete control over.
That is missing entirely with the internet.

I'd rather just be open and honest with them when it's immediately relevant for as long as I'm alive.
What they do or don't pass on to people when I'm dead is up to them.


Why do I want to leave behind a legacy?
Other than money, land, or family heirlooms that just keep getting passed down for no real reason except they're old, legacies are for egomaniacs.

I am sure it would be a prized possession for your next generation and thereafter.

I still have a book written by my Dad who passed away 9 years back. Yesterday was 'Father's Day' and I remembered him reading some chapters from his book 'Leaves from a Policeman's diary'. My Dad was Cop.

Maybe not on myself personally, but my experiences from 17 to 45 were a nearly constant stream of relatively serious events with quite a few absolutely hilarious happenings intertwined. I'd leave out the wives and girlfriends. That's a very boring part of my life, and I like that about me.

Hopefully one day. I want to leave a legacy.

Plan on leaving behind a diary?

If I did...it would be in screenplay form...almost like a reality show...only tooo unreal... ...

I have written many diaries that goes on for a period of time and then forgotten. I've tried a lot of times but now for my important memories or some rant I need to express, the best way for me is through tumblr where I keep a private blog.

I would like to write a book about myself if I can bother piecing everything together. The book would be for me only or destroyed just so no one can see it, privacy is important.

Yes I would most definitely wright an autobiography about my life. I have learned a lot and have experienced many things on my life's journey so far.

I think that any one could write a biography about their life experiences ... someone else will read it I am sure.

Why should I tell family/people where all the bodies are buried; many times by themselves? Nobody likes a tattle tail.

As far as experience let them learn it the hard way because then it will really sink in.

The best I am capable of doing is leaving behind my dairies I have kept since I was very young...
