Is an open relationship anything like an opened-face sandwich?

tell her no and you won't get to be around her at all... so i guess it depends on how you will handle it...

forcing people into your will is just as bad, IMO...

serious question you are having a relationship with your best friend most beautiful person you have ever seen and its an open relationship. can you handle it and how?
I wouldnt do it... but hey, whatever trips your triggera. Just watch out for some other dudes peter tracks when you lay down on her bed.
actually this case there's only one man anyone else involved would be female.

Ahhh....so you believe in this 'open' relationship, youre the only guy she's banging.

him: babe I am thinking we need an open relationship. You are really close friends with what's her name...the blond you work with right? soooo how about we open this up and invite her in?
Her: you mean Bambi the new secretary? you wanna invite her into the bedroom...well.....I dunno...I guess that would be alright...

To me open relationship are somebody who only desire sex and not the commitment in a relationship.

Since the person is your best friend then why do that to a friend..

I won't be able to handle it.. he will no longer be my friend if he start to suggest this.rant

Sure I could handle it.. Would I not on your life or hislaugh ...

I believe in commitment all the way.. I have no problems and actually encourage him to have many friends of both sexes.. And if he wants to continue in a relationship with me, the it would behoove him to remember it is platonic friends..

If it works for some people then I say it is just fine, but for myself I am looking for a more traditional relationship.

I've heard you never really know someone till you divorce them. suppression leads to depression leads to revolt. I would never suppress anyone's desires. if no one is getting hurt enjoy life.

If you never really know someone till you divorce them...how do you know that you are or aren't suppressing their desires?
How do you know whether or not they are getting hurt?
Suppression can lead to depression and repression until revolt.
Suppression can lead to depression and repression, without revolt.
Someone can be a "suppressor" and not realize it, unable to see themselves as such.

as long as you can just stay best friends then it doesn't matter what she or he does with other people- all there is is a best friend relationship-

That's not my idea of a relationship. Too many complications and possibilities of losing that friend...

A so-called "open relationship" isn't a committed one. It's just thinly disguised screwing around. Kind of like referring to slavery as "enforced employment."

I'm going out on a limb and say I bet people have kept friends they love in their lives longer than a lawful spouse considering lawful commitment average 8 years in the USA. here a heterosexual man is in love with bi sexual woman they have been best friends and lovers for 5 years without a till death do we part contract. so if the man sets limits does not allow the bi sexual woman to be bi sexualvhas he not just made her his slave.
