I can't get YouTube where I am so I can't see the videos. But from what I read, this is not the fist time the train tour has had people removed or ask to leave the train because they were disrupting the tour. According to what I read it happens about once a month on that tour.

We're they all black too?.

I didn't watch all the videos, they seem to be mostly bias outrage.

1-10 women from Africa
2- 1 black- American
3- People are thrown off train once a month.
4- Cops were called, first time ever, for 11 disruptive women to be removed.
5- Cops came AFTER the women were left off, & transferred back to the pick up spot. And their money for the trip returned.
6- The women were sitting in THREE different locations, laughing & talking loud to each other. The other PASSENGERS complained to staff. The staff asked the women MULTIPLE times to keep the noise down & warned them that they would be thrown off.
7- None of the women were intoxicated.
8-- Ages range 47-86

I was in a elevator not to long ago. You know a typical Chinese elevator.. 47 people crammed in a small rickety elevator until you are all basically fused together. And this one guy is screaming into his cell... for 15 floors. I wanted to smack the cell phone from his ear but I couldn't get my arm loose.

laugh how long have you stay in China? I'm there for 5 years! Suffering from depression for the first 3 mths! All the noise, services, processes, litter, spitting.. so many stuff. Of course there are good things too.. so just think about those positive parts while you are still there rofl

I think you would really have to look at their history to determine if there was any bias. If they are throwing people off the train ( of any color) it could be justified based on their rules (i.e. quiet enjoyment of all passengers). It states where they were asked to pipe down 3 times. It appears they didn't.. but this could also be a bad train tour company with a checkered past of customer complaints.

If that is the case then they have no business being in the customer business. And if it is found that they do have a track record for asking blacks to get off the train.. they should be shut down...immediately.

I do know that on the train I take into the city, if you are talking loudly, the conductors will tell you to keep it down, if you don't they will remove you at the next stop. If you act up.. there will be cops waiting for you when the doors open And they do not refund your money.. ( I have seen it done) That is for the comfort of all other paid passengers.

For the sake of impending argument, which WILL happen later...on this thread.. This train was NOT public transportation. This was a privately owned tour train, thru wine country in California. Where people are customers & pay for a leisurely tour with food & drinks.
* A higher standard is upheld *

If it's a privately owned in china.. then it will be worse! The bus will be overcrowded with people and no control because they are only concern about profits grumble

I have seen many people removed from public trains & buses, all colors & for a variety of reasons. I have never seen a refund given.
Perhaps... that was a gesture of goodwill, considering they were all women over 40. Or perhaps, trying to quiet them since the cops did not arrive, or a gesture / attempt to appease them so this would not get blown out of proportion & made into ... yet another race issue.

Agreed.. usually their tickets will have clauses whereby the service provider will have the rights to reject any customer blah blah blah.. etc without refund.
At least they return the fare

I have also been to a few restaurants in my time where groups were loud and while I am sure it was a great time for them, they were effecting the people around them. And while I never seen them asked to leave ( I am sure because the check was not paid yet) I have seen management come over and tell them to keep it down. Which made me happy as I could actually continue to have a normal conversation with the person I was with.

Now I'm not a wine and chees guy.. I prefer a cold beer. but I have been to a few of those type gatherings and they are not the same bar type atmospheres that you see else where. I would call it a quiet dignified type setting. Which I would assume is the setting the train company is trying to sell.

Now why you stirring a fuss sistahs?

We made a fuss after they placed on Facebook that we were verbally and physically abusive to other guests.
That did not happen.

Personally I don't see this as a racist thing.. But somehow it will be made into it..They freely admit they had been talked to about the noise.

While I totally agree that they were a larger group and it will be louder than a small group. I have to ask are their rights anymore important than anyone elses.

IF they knew that their group is a bit louder than others maybe they are the ones that should have done a bit more research into what was expected of their behavior..

I so tired of everything having to have a label on it.

I also wonder if ...
White,
Chinese
Spanish
any other nationality would get as much hoopla as this for being escorted off the train..

As far as the 6 car escort goes I have no clue as to why I do know that on some trains that are touring trains the front and back cars are where you exit not the middle but since I haven't seen this one I have no idea.

I am also willing to bet that there were some hefty clauses in the tickets they bought. That didn't require the company to refund their tickets. And also it doesn't say that they women were stranded anywhere? Do really??

If a person's behavior isn't appropriate then and can't be made appropriate after several warnings what are they supposed to do?

Allow one group to have all the rights and the other passengers tough??

Talk about bad business practice...

The ladies claim they were thrown off because they are black

How much of the book club are white or asian or hispanic or middle eastern or men?
Or is it all just black women? So racist and sexist?

The train operator stated that they were loud and obnoxious and asked to quiet down.

I think it would be extremely important to determine if the employees acted on their own to decide the group was being too loud, or if they were receiving numerous complaints from other customers and simply responding to that.
