Forever Aloners out there

if you can change it: change it
if you cannot: accept it

for instance if you are 5ft 8 and done growing ? get used to it
if you are 150 pound weakling or an over 200 pound couch potato and do not want to be? try the gym

if you hate your job? find another
if you never went back to school? go register

if you feel like you cannot keep up in an conversation? educate yourself on current topics

Current topics? Have you heard some of the drivel people are talking about currently?

How come no one ever wants to hear you talk about Ancient Rome or Greek Mythology, alien conspiracies. I can talk about that stuff for hours. frustrated

All but the alien conspiracies I enjoy deep conversations at times... tongue2

OP... I understand that shyness can almost be crippling at times.

You seem to be doing okay out here on the forums..
What about participating more and learning how to chat with different people out here to overcome a bit of the shyness.

It is going to take time I mean a lot of time,
sweat and work to overcome this.

No matter how understanding a girl is she has to have interaction.

Best wishes to you.

i dont think so i got problem with talking u know . Yes i am shy but doesnt mean i am awkward guy . I am good with debate and stuff specially the things which i know . I guess the problem lies in me and how i Perceive Talking to opposite sex . Like i think of them As somewhat different species . I try to be over nice or over gentlemen and think too much before speaking infront of them . . I think i should get out of my comfort zone and start approching girls in my collage . . .It is like i am not feeling bad being alone . I got great friends etc but i think it is stupid of me to close myself in a box and messup my other side of existance . .

Ok this makes more sense..
I will give you a little secret..we are the same species just wired a bit differently.

I don't think you are stupid or bad at all I think you are over thinking it way to much.

Since you appear to over think things..what is the worst thing a girl can do to you? Laugh.. not talk to you.. so what.. that one was a throw away anyway consider it great practice for the right one that will come along.

You also have to give yourself credit it takes a lot of guts to come onto the worldwide internet and admit that you have an issue no matter what it is.

I find various mythologies interesting. Alien conspiracies, a little, but not too much. Current events can be frustrating sometimes, but that is the world we live in right now. It is advantageous to be informed on it as well. You'd be pleasantly surprised at what others like to talk and listen about if you give them a chance. Sometimes, things that never interested me before, does so because of how someone else strongly felt about it.

OP might be shy because he is unsure of what he wants to say, not necessarily because of who he is talking with...?

The wider your interests, the better the chances in having a decent conversation with anyone. You wont even notice being shy anymore when you get caught up with what you want to say. :)

If all else fails, you can always practice eye-contact while speaking to yourself in the mirror. :p

You're creating your own monster.
Personally, as much as i love talking with my girl friends, ive often appreciated a male point of view on a variety of topics.
We think differently, our brains are wired differently. Makes things interesting sometimes. But nothing to be afraid of.

First try not to judge yourself. Most women are very good at conversation, don't be uptight just talk about things you are interested in.Do not worry about impressing women, look at all the positives that you have going for you and soon you will find someone who shares a common ground with you. Best of luck to you and remember a lot of guys your age feel awkward around women its natural.

I can never hate a shy person. I just get along better with extrovert men. Even my Myers Briggs test thought so. laugh. They are more approachable. The way they joke around leaves the door open for easier conversation.

Sometimes if you try to impress people too much, the more you feel awkward or make mistakes and get the tendency of saying or doing the wrong things. Don't think too much on what people will say or react , just be yourself, be confident and be more open, real and honest in dealing with anyone. Believe in yourself of who and what you are. Break the shell that you build around yourself, it creates a barrier for you to communicate openly with the others. Don't be afraid of criticisms, either positive or negative , you have to learn to accept . Good if it's positive criticism , it will help build your self confidence. But how to handle negative criticism, you have to take it openly and not feel bad instead learn from it or take it as a challenge to become a better person. If people don't know how to accept the way you are as a person , your opinion or ideas, don't shy away or withdraw. You can't please everybody and don't try too hard to be nice, it's not gonna be the real you. Be free to say what's on your mind and how you feel, it's up to the people if they listen to you or accept you or make you feel you belong, if they don't then they are not the right crowd for you. Find yourself where you really belong and only you alone can feel that sense of belongingness and only then you will feel the freedom to be your real self.
