only bad thing about dating websites is the talking through computer/mobile
you might hit it off through chatting etc but how much of it is
actually genuine however you spell lol hate the getting to know
someone through a computer does that mean you have to be on it for hours and if not your on less and wont get to know them....
just thinking out loud anyway am new so thought get this out there
if you chat through online going to be nothing left to say in person if you do meet ?

It is a good thing that Mingle2 is a social site, not just a dating site.

Unfortunately, the mute button on that thing doesn't work on females.

Your right dating is hard and not just on dating sites, going out and finding someone for more than just a fling is a lot of work. In this era of instant gratification were the future generations expect more and more to just join a dating site and have a date the very next weekend has created a culture were spending more than a month just drives them insane, "Ain't no body go time for that!" Finding someone worth keeping take time, sometimes it take a lot of time. So just remember if you grandparent were as impatient as you are none of you would be here because they had to actually leave their neighborhoods and venture out into the world to find some one.

I have found that some of the people who complain the most about not being able to find a comfortable match still explain what they like in very generic terms. The more vague your description the more likely that you are to not find what you want and have a difficult time finding something to talk about and warm up the friendship.

It's not that difficult really.95% of people can be eliminated within a few seconds on the basis of age, ethnicity, religion, location or whatever your personal preferences are.Of the remaining 5% most of these can be eliminated individually in a matter of minutes. You are then faced with the problem of who is left,if anybody. If you are lucky someone you like might be a participant in the forums and that gives you some insight into their character. So join in the forum and rather than having to do all the selecting work, people will see you and contact you.

No. You only need to chat long enough for you to establish whether or not you would like to meet them in person, and for them to decide if they want to meet you. After that, the sooner you meet up the better because until you meet them you don't have the complete picture in my opinion. Always first meet them in a public place, make your own way there and never give anyone your personal contact details until you have met them a few times and feel comfortable to do so, stay safe.

Welcome to Mingle2 and good luck in your search.

Dating sites have turned into a version of Ebay. You look at all the people who interest you, then you send out emails to (lets say) about twenty of them (basically a version of bidding) Once you get a "hit" you keep chatting it up (thus increasing your bid) in the hopes that you will actually win (and you don't have to use paypal).
