Six Flags is outside of St. Louis in a town called Eureka. Eureka received the worst part of the flooding but Six Flags wasn't flooded. It's a rumor floating around Facebook.

St Louis County Missouri Scanner Radio

"This photo is floating around Facebook with people saying this is The Screaming Eagle at Six Flags St. Louis during the flood. NOT TRUE! This is a pic of a roller coaster at Six Flags in Texas a few years ago. The flood water was no where near Six Flags St. Louis."

See that is what gets people so upset. I have extended family in Greater St. Louis and I hope they are alright but I know bad information is just that so waiting for them to let us know their situation.

I remember seeing my son ducking for cover on live TV when they had the Olympics insanity in Atlanta but was really terrible when people were jumping to conclusions he had been killed and were telling the rest of the family that getting everyone so upset.

I have just over the years seen a lot of Mingle folks in the area and want to help them feel we are aware and caring.

If it bothers you to say it publicly, you can email me their location and I can tell you how their areas are doing.

I'm glad they're doing well. The worst I've been through is the headaches of closed highways. Some people I know lost AT&T services - internet, landline phones, cell phones, and cable. Others have had to conserve water and others are having to boil water. A family at my church lost their home because of a creek flooding. Church members are going to help them.

Really helps when the church family comes through.

Years ago before it was vogue I used to contact bigger churches, or a mess of little churches, to be and "Angel Team" when we did a "family" restoration project. I would just do sign up sheets and then bring everything into the church recreation room and start setting it up like a mini house and bring the Sunday school classes in and they filled in the accessories. And pantry basics. It was kind of cool because lot of the sunday-school classes got involved and they ended up with wardrobe boxes of size appropriate clothes, toys, and even hand made pajamas and quilts. Then we would bring the family in. Lot of times they didn't even know what was happening until they were told. And were handed apartment keys.

It is a great Eagle Scout project but it is really not that hard if someone puts up a little seed money or even just time and services in kind. The idea of "Each one; Help one." Most of us can't change the world but helping one person is still doable.
