the american legion, the veterans of foreign wars, the chamber of commerce, the lions club and the fraternal order of eagles. now I hope this does not spark a protest, would like to know what orginazitions you belong to. be it a mans or a womans or a mixture of the two, all the groups I have named have an auxilary unit for the women, except for the chamber there all belong to the one, so there is no racial or gender bias in any of them.

Outside of bands and sports teams, I've never joined anything. I'm just not a joiner, I guess....

Forced to belong to the union at work so they can "dip" into my pay each paycheck (jerks). They are totally worthless though if you need anything from them.

yes the PTA does count it is one of the largest groups. the difference in the legion and the vfw, the legion you must have served in war time though not necessarly in a combat zone, the vfw the name says it all. I notice one I have not been in and doubt that I will now am vets. in fact I am thinking about dropping some of the ones I now have.

parents without partners from all I have heard is an excellent support group for the singl parent. have also heard there are quiet a few matches made there. don't quote me on this one it is just something I have heard, still the potential does seem to be very good.

there is a support group that is the name parents without partners, if you have any minor children I am not sure you qualify if you share custody, i do know it is a national possibly international group you have regular meetings but are not required to attend, from what I have been able the membership is about equally divided among the males and females. you should be able to find them in the phone book if not then many places the church or social services are just a couple of places to check.
