No, not there ... sorry!

Do you pay attention to dirt, dust, cobwebs etc when you first go to a date's home?
Many women do a spring cleaning when they invite someone over, but do you men even notice if the floor's not seen a mop or vacuum cleaner for a week?

What does a guy pay attention to when he enters a woman's home the first time?

Girls, feel free to share your opinions, experiences etc.

Kitchen sink is a good indicator!! I pay attention to that too, lol. Same with (kitchen) taps. If they're all yukked ... Taps should be clean. Shiny.
And I have this habit that when I'm in the loo I look at things. Of course the bog itself -otherwise I may not even wanna sit myself down-, but while seated doing my thang ... I somehow always look at the floor, plinths (if there's dust on 'em) and if the tiles are nice and shiny etc.

The front door is s good indication for me
Is it sweeped?
Are the shoes nicely in a row?
Is the mat clean and tidy?
Are there cobwebs and spiders?
How clean are the windows
When he opens the door what smells smack you in the face?
And this is before I enter in the home.

Then things aren't looking up for me, I don't wash my windows that often, hahahaha. And sometimes there are some cobwebs in the corners -autumn time usually, so many friggin spiders!- but the webs glisten like crystal in the sun. I love seeing that!

Clean is good. Dirty is bad.

Do you pay attention to dirt, dust, cobwebs etc when you first go to a date's home?

Not nearly as much as to smell.

do you men even notice if the floor's not seen a mop or vacuum cleaner for a week?

Only if she demands I remove my shoes before stepping into her house.

What does a guy pay attention to when he enters a woman's home the first time?

I don't know.
I'm usually focused on her, and focused on making sure I don't make her feel regret for inviting me.

I don't really care about her home status unless there is a bad smell, and/or there is something out of my normal.
Like if there's BDSM equipment in the living room, or doll heads nailed to the wall, or a dead cat in the corner.

At best I pay attention to what kind of stuff she has.
Like a t.v., what movies she has, board games, if she has an xbox, if she uses tap water or filtered/bought water, what kind of food she has.
Basically trying to figure out if I'm going to be trying to spend most of my time at her place or try to get her back to my place or what to plan for future dates (e.g. see golf clubs in the corner, take her to the driving range next time).

And I pay attention for certain gestures that are meant to be noticed. Like if she set out a bowl of my favorite candy.

I really don't care how clean or dirty her place is, assuming we aren't talking about extremes like hoarder vs. hospital sterile.

If it's not clean and I have a problem with it, I can clean it, weekend project. If I don't want to clean it then I can keep my mouth shut and judgments to myself.

If it's clean then I don't know if she's cleaning it as a facade, insecure about judgment, **** about cleanliness and sterility, just moved into the place, has a maid, has her mom come clean it, had to go through and hide a bunch of "bad" stuff.
IOW no reason to pay attention to a clean home as it doesn't really say anything about a person with any kind of certainty.

I figured as much but wasn't sure. Nice to hear it confirmed by a guy.
Thanks for the feedback!

A week? You think guys clean once a week? There are more guys that NEVER clean than there are guys that clean once a week.

Find another bloke to date laugh
To be honest .. I don't think Dutch men are that bad when it comes to that.
I only know that from teenage boys. Teenage girls can make a horrible mess too, but it's usually not dirty, just piles of clothes and girl stuff.
Teenage boys' rooms, however, can be totally gross.
From what I've seen the Dutch in general are a reasonably clean people. I think Belgians are even 'worse'.
We generally spend quite some time and money on maintaining our homes, both on the inside and outside.
When I think of what I've seen in another West European country, of which I won't mention the name, lol, ... whether it was homes of lower or very high educated people ... just yuk, and very poor maintenance too.
I think we have a more "My home is my castle!" attitude.

Yikes...

I feel totally out of place in this thread.

Once a guy practices good hygiene , and nothing oozes or crawls or scampers at his place, I'm good! laugh
