The truth is always the best policy, except when it may get you killed as the ludicrous examples in this thread given...

sure there's a way to do it with tact...

but fact is that to convey something with tact it takes effort.....and not everyone deserves that effort.

For example..guy driving behindbme is texting and plows into the rear of my car.

when the cop asks what happened, I'm not going to say "well Mr. Smith here I'm sure was obeying the law, he must have just looked down for a second and didn't notice that all traffic was stopped, could've happened to anyone really"

I'm going to say "The idiot was texting, and I'm not surprised he hit me."

I agree with you...

- There's a difference when telling the truth and saying nothing at all....
Never say anything unless its the truth....if you cant do that then say nothing at all...

Yes and no. If its someone that you care about very much, you may have to choose your words carefully. Especially if they are diluted. Brutal honesty is only for nialists. They have no consideration for people's feelings. Tuff love is strong honesty aimed to help someone from crashing their lives. The Nialists truth has been used, when someone just doesn't care about someone and it's in your face and I don't care. Pretty mean actually.

When a gal would cross the red line (like they like to do) They ask does this make me look fat, I stay quite a while. My wheels are spinning.
Computer screen gives these options:
Your not fat, your pleasantly plump.
Hey do you want me to lie to you, or be your friend?
Hold on, I think I hear my mommy calling me.
An then theres the final option,
No, the clothes are way too small.
Hee hee!

BTW Moe if I WAS the cop (which I was for 12 years) then me witnessing your kid driving like an idiot and crashing and dying makes it a FACT not an OPINION. Thank You and have a nice day:)

lol.. i was pretty sure you didn't understand the difference...

so i take it i should worry more about the cop being an azzhole more than my kid dying....

your a special peace of work, aren't ya...

Mighty Moe....Cool Downnnn...Lolzzzz:wink:
