Relax...not that kind of thread.
Your ex falls on hard times, and needs a little help to get back on their feet. Are you available?

Depends on what you consider an 'ex.' If it's someone I had a decent relationship with, sure, I could help with a favor or a loan. That would be help that wouldn't involve any rekindling of emotions, as the past is in the past.

If we're talking about that sort of ex-ish person that recently done me wrong (a non-Mingler!) ... oh hell no. It was a toxic situation and It's just too much of a quicksand pit to even consider helping him. sad2

So in summary: I would if I could keep my boundaries and not get re-emotionally involved.

Depends on the ex, depends on what I know about them, depends on the help they need.

I mean there's a huge difference between "hey, remember me from high school? Yeah...well, I became a junkie, and just got out of jail. I need a place to stay with my current biker boyfriend for a month until I can get a job because my parole demands it. And could you help out with a couple bucks too?"

and

"Hey, when we go for our weekly lunch this week, would you mind paying even though it's my turn? I've had some unexpected bills come up. ...and do you know of anyone hiring part time or could I use you as a reference?"

I think I would if I could, but I guess it really just depends on how you feel towards that person... I mean if they are an EX you did love them at one time...

If.. you're talking in a monetary sense.
...well.. I know guys..that are divorced and their wife raises the children..on. her own.. I can sometimes overhear them on the phone bickering with their ex about giving her more money..... I can't figure this out..
She's raising your children for you by herself... you should be down on your knees giving her every support you can.. if not for her but for the sake of your children...... but I know this can be complicated... but if she is doing her best... the least a person should do is his best to help her.. just my humble opinion

I don't have any problems with my past relationships, we remain friends when we parted and even up to now. I will help in any way I can for old time's sake. Actually, I have an ex who had a family problem and it was his wife who asked a favor from me to help her husband. And I'm glad I did , they are doing fine now , my ex is back on his feet and hopefully he'll not go back to what he used to be. It would be my pleasure to see my ex happy with his life.

It's almost a 50/50 split here so far... I am surprised.

it's a case to case basis scenario...

if we are talking about an ex who's physically, mentally and emotionally abusive...definitely NO...and I guess there's no further explanation to this anymore...

however,to a previous lover who treated you well...absolutely YES...by all means.

When one says ex to me I take it as a ex husband or wife not a gf/bf..

I only have one ex the way I see it and yes if I was in a position and he needed help I would help him out.. but then I know he would do the same for me as well..

Heck I had to call a ex b/f last year to bring a trailer to Houston and load my car on it and tow it home.. He did it without even thinking and would not let me pay for the gas he used.. Had to grab for the check to pay for our meal when we stopped to eat..

Just cause we did not make it does not mean they are heartless nor am I.. past is past~~~

Never been available in any way for an X at all and don't suspect I will anytime soon.
X's are X for reasons and those reasons help me not be available.
