WASHINGTON (AP) -- The State Department says a $400 million cash payment to Iran was contingent on the release of American prisoners. Spokesman John Kirby says negotiations over the United States' returning Iranian money from a decades-old account was conducted separately from the prisoner talks. But he says the U.S. withheld delivery of the cash as leverage until the U.S. citizens had left Iran. Both events occurred Jan. 17. Someone lied. You be the judge as to who... C'mon! No one lied. “We do not pay ransom. We didn’t here, and we won’t in the future,” the president told reporters... The US claims the money — delivered in cash stacked aboard an unmarked cargo plane — was part of a settlement John Kirby was asked at Thursday’s press briefing: “In basic English, you’re saying you wouldn’t give them $400 million in cash until the prisoners were released, correct?” “That’s correct,” Kirby replied. See? It's not ransom. It's blackmail. If they ever wanted to see their 400 million again they'd pay the US with hostages/prisoners. ...So "technically" there was no lying. Didn't you ever see that sign on Ron Paul's desk? "Don't steal. The government hates competition." Blackmail, piracy, arms trading, slavery, kidnapping, theft, control, whatever. |

So "technically", Iran may have another 100 mil coming to them....

If true, a country with that kind of law is a helluva country to negotiate a nuclear deal with |
