She states she has nothing to hide. It was simply a bad choice, a simple mistake on her part appeased by a less than sincere apology, and her pitiful excuse of "I don't recall" to questions. This same person who asked "what difference does it make" over the bodies of 4 dead Americans serving in Benghazi while under her policies and watch.

For someone with "nothing to hide" why is it that when anyone with knowledge or 1st hand info or involvement in the details is questioned in regards to her choices or actions they choose to demand rights under a Constitution (which she continually states is antiquated and needs redefined) in the form of pleading the 5th among them?

Nothing to hide yet nothing to say. Immunity given to those with the closest ties to the case and subject of the investigation with no charges ever brought against anyone. But it wasn't "fixed" or influenced from on high......?

Former Secretary of State’s Top IT Official Pleads 5th Amendment More Than 90 Times

(CNSNews.com) – The former top IT official to then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, pleaded the 5th Amendment against self-incrimination – 90 times -- in a federal court-ordered deposition on Oct. 24.

John Bentel, the former Director of Information Resource Management of the Executive Secretariat, the office that handles information technology for the Office of the Secretary of State, was ordered by U.S. District Court Judge Emmet G. Sullivan to answer questions under oath to the lawyers at the government watchdog group Judicial Watch.

In his Aug. 19 order, Judge Sullivan wrote, “The Court is persuaded that Mr. Bentel should be deposed because the record in this case appears to contradict his sworn testimony before the [House Select] Benghazi Committee…. Specifically, Mr. Bentel testified that he was not aware that Secretary Clinton’s email account was housed on a private server until media reports in 2015…. However, several emails indicate Mr. Bentel knew about the private server as early as 2009.”

FBI Director James Comey was reportedly warned against notifying Congress about a batch of newly discovered emails with potential ties to Hillary Clinton’s private server.

According to the Washington Post, before issuing the letter to Congress that sent shock waves through the Clinton campaign Friday, Comey consulted senior Justice Department officials who advised him of the DOJ’s position “that we don’t comment on an ongoing investigation. And we don’t take steps that will be viewed as influencing an election.”

“Director Comey understood our position,” said one official, who spoke to the Post on the condition of anonymity. “It was conveyed to the FBI, and Comey made an independent decision to alert the Hill. He is operating independently of the Justice Department. And he knows it.”

The practice of avoiding any activity that could be perceived as an attempt to influence the results of an election is a long-held Justice Department tradition that, the the New Yorker reported, became an official practice four years ago thanks to a memo from then-Attorney General Eric Holder.

In the memo, Holder warned that all DOJ employees “must be particularly sensitive to safeguarding the Department’s reputation for fairness, neutrality, and nonpartisanship” when dealing with political cases, and urged anyone who may face questions about “the timing of charges or overt investigative steps near the time of a primary or general election” to consult the Public Integrity Section of the DOJ’s Criminal Division.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch also urged Comey to stick to the Department’s longstanding practice, according to the New Yorker, and not to take any action that could influence the presidential election— which is now just 10 days away.

In a separate letter sent to FBI employees Friday, Comey offered an explanation for his decision to break with DOJ policy and notify Congress about the newly discovered emails, despite the recommendation from Lynch and other senior officials.

“Of course, we don’t ordinarily tell Congress about ongoing investigations, but here I feel an obligation to do so given that I testified repeatedly in recent months that our investigation was completed,” Comey wrote, referring to the Bureau’s previous investigation into Clinton’s private email server. “I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record.”

At the same time, he continued, “given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression. In trying to strike that balance, in a brief letter and in the middle of an election season, there is significant risk of being misunderstood, but I wanted you to hear directly from me about it.”

Reports later revealed that the emails in question were discovered on electronic devices belonging to former Congressman Anthony Weiner, whose sexting habits are currently the subject of a separate FBI investigation. Weiner is the estranged husband of top Clinton aide Huma Abedin,

The criminal investigation underway over Anthony Weiner’s alleged child sex infraction has a couple of characteristics that make it especially awkward for Hillary Clinton and Huma Abedin, the estranged wife of Weiner and close companion of Hillary.

Ed Timperlake points out to me that in an underage sex investigation, all electronic communications of the investigative target are pursued. This probably led to the grand jury that was announced 11 days ago issuing a subpoena for all of the devices in the possession of Weiner and his family, including Huma. As Lucianne Goldberg quipped, they even seize the Speak & Spell toys in these cases. This grand jury is in New York, possibly less poltiically supervised than the first Hillary email investigation.

Evidently, some of these devices were not turned over in the first investigation and contained “pertinent” emails. We do not know with certainty, but some reports indicate the pertinent emails may have been found on Weiner’s laptop. Recall that the initial investigation did not convene a grand jury and did not therefore have subpoena power. It is possible that Huma Abedin misled the FBI over the existence of pertinent emails on her then-husband’s computing devices.

So what could have been on the laptop Carlos Danger used for sexting?

Adam Yoshida, with a background in information technology consulting for affluent and powerful people emails:

…Clinton [was] using e-mails seemingly like most people use IMs or text messaging. Her holding onto Blackberries (and seven switching back to older models when the software was upgraded) [demonstrates this]. It might even explain at least SOME of the motivation for the e-mail server itself. I’ve seen plenty of cases where a powerful person says basically, “I want my e-mails on this thing” and, regardless of whether it’s a good solution, people respond, “ready-aye-ready.”

So, what could they have found on Weiner’s computers that would have caused such alarm?

I’d think one of two things:

1) Either that Huma signed in her e-mail account at one point and, presumably, it being Exchange or IMAP, dumped the whole account onto the computer and that account has plenty of e-mails between her and Clinton that were deleted.

Or -

2) There’s mention of Huma having a Yahoo account to which she would forward things for printing purposes. This struck me right away because, of course, printers are often difficult to configure as are e-mail accounts. It struck me as strange, yet very believable, that she mentioned that she’d forward stuff to that Yahoo account to print them. I mean, printing in theory should be platform agnostic, but - if you’re technically unsophisticated - you might have serious problems trying to setup an e-mail account or a printer on a device. Thus I imagine a scenario where she has a portable machine that either she can’t (or can’t be, for some reason) configured to use her home printer and a desktop machine (I imagine an slightly-older iMac here) that’s physically connected to the printer that serves as a shared “family computer” or whatever. She either can’t setup the e-mail account on that computer (perhaps it requires a VPN or something like that) or doesn’t want to, so she forwards everything that she wants to print to the Yahoo account that she does have setup on that computer. The FBI takes this computer as part of the Weiner investigation and, bam, they find thousands of e-mail messages - again, evidence of what was destroyed earlier.

Now, consider for a moment Anthony Weiner’s future. His wife dumped him, and he is of no use to the Clintons anymore. Penalties for online sex crimes tend to be severe, and child sex offenders are reported to do extremely unpleasant time in prison. Ed Timperlake thinks:

It has been said and also demonstrated by his actions that Anthony Weiner is a real self-centered narcissist. If he remains true to his character, there is a possibility that he will consider cutting a deal for a lesser sentence in return for evidence and testimony against Clinton Inc.

I bet he knows a lot.

Aside from his genitals, I don’t think Weiner has a reputation as a stand-up guy.

Federal investigators looking into the Hillary Clinton email matter have obtained the warrant needed to start reviewing the emails found on a laptop used by Clinton aide Huma Abedin and her husband, Anthony Weiner.

FBI Director James Comey told Congress Friday that the agency was again reviewing emails related to Clinton's personal server, after it learned of additional information that might be relevant to the case.
