Good Morning my beautiful people of Mingle 2, its a lovely day in the city of brotherly love with much sunshine & folks in an awesome mood....before I get started, people go vote today , let's change the course of history again....okay, let's get into it, My question today is more to love today. When we seek mates for ourselves, what do we really want? Is it wrong to want financial stability? Or do we want genuine love? Do it matters if they have limited or no income as long as that person is good to me and our children we managed. Or Maybe you want the best of both worlds money & love? Which side of the wall are you? Money, investments, wealth, power or you want a classic Cinderella/Cindefella story book love? So I want to hear from you all today let's drink to my cup of EyeAm tea!

EyeAmYourHost39,

My take on this issue is I kind of want the best of both worlds. It all goes back into one's standards. I was raised in a fairly middle class family, we didn't have a lot but we was looking good with what we got. Don't get me wrong , I'm no gold digger or Casanova, but I want to know we can enjoy the simple pleasures together. To be honest I don't want a rich woman, sometimes money can swell a person head and they lose touch of what's needed. Buying my love won't last. But if you have a heart of gold, living common, and you enjoying the many blessing god giving you that's what I want. Ladies, you don't have to impress me with power lunches, extravagant gifts or bragging rights of what you did for me. No, we will come up together. I have you have. if I am able to shower you every now and then well that's should be appreciated not this is a must to keep you. See I don't want a snobby Kim Kardashian type I would rather be with a down to earth woman like Megan Goode or Tariji P. Henson, beauty & cool attitude.

I've said it before my only requirement is that they are in at least as good of shape as I am. The only role money has in my life is how much do I need to live, ie. roof over my head, warm dry place to sleep, and a hot meal in my belly. The Jones be dammed, the Egyptians proved you can't take it with you when you go because if you could all of the museums would be empty.

From my point of you there is a big difference which gender has less or no money.
First of all, it's only positive side if both partners earn! Have their own money for their spendings.
But, the truth is, that man should be the one women can relay on. And the reason is very simple, usually after giving birth women are the ones who take care of children and household. Of course situations can differ, and the roles can exchange, but I couldn't live with men who can't take me out to restaurants, holidays, or pay for taxi (drive me home) if needed etc.
And don't get me wrong, I can do all those things myself too. It's not that I have nothing and expect from partner something I can't do, it's just a big bold tick in relationship box to make us work. The feeling that I can relay on man and he can do it!

With money, i'd have a place to live, feed myself and able to relax and not so much stress. If I only had love, I could be homeless, freezing, no money not be thinking of anyone else. Just trying to survive. I would not be happy like that.

I definitely want love, the real deal.
But.. money plays a factor in it too. I wouldn't easily date a man who's unemployed even though I don't work myself.
Hypocritical, no. Thing is, it's a real man's thing -part of the masculine principle- to want status, a career, a job, to be able to provide and protect for his woman. So a man without a job sort of tells me he's not really balanced in his masculine energy and I really do want a masculine energy man. (I know there's exceptions to the rule)
A man's ego and sense of self hinges on this sort of stuff. So yes, having a man who has a job matters to me.

Power and wealth not so much. Wealth sure as heck would be nice, makes life a lot easier. But it doesn't interest me to the point of trying to get a wealthy man. I want my Mr Right and love.
Power... not interested in that at all. I think that's more of a masculine thing too. (and of masculine energy women) Power comes with responsibility, and I'm not keen on that. Power and responsibility mean restriction of personal freedom, and my personal freedom is rather sacred to me.

I think I see your point.

If you mean which is more important, yeah, we need money to provide the basic necessities. I took it as, if you are searching for a mate, is it more important to look for someone with money, or unconditional love?

In that case, if I'm self-sufficient (which I am), then the other person's income doesn't really mean too much.
