I personally think that distance is a major factor. Reason for this is if I am getting involved with someone who is geographically unavailable, and yet the conversation and interaction is very well received, how are we ever to meet if neither is ready to travel...... I'm not saying that it is not possible, but, realistically, not likely...... As far as age, my late wife was 15yr older than myself, and we had a wonderful life together. Age is only a number, it is the compatibility and respect that matters to me...... Honest communication is fundamental in establishing a real relationship. ✌

What I want in a relationship is someone who actually likes me for myself and who will be good to me. I don't ask for a lot from my partner but apparently it's more than any man is willing to give. I expect my partner to be honest, forthcoming and open. I don't expect him to tell me his every dark secret of course but I also don't want him to be passive/aggressive. Don't hold things in for a year and then blow up at me and let it out. My ex is like that.
I love people who have a good sense of humor and it would be so nice to be able to laugh with my partner.
As for dating, it would be great if a guy would actually take me out somewhere and not want to stay in all the time. One guy did take me out to eat but he expected ME to pay for his dinner. I paid for my own.
The other two guys I went out with wanted to get take-out. That's all and fine but not for the first date. I don't want anyone in my house if I don't know them.
Maybe I'm old but it seems to me that things are a lot different now than when I was a young woman. Men seem to want to bypass the dating part and go for the sex straight away.

You are spot on with this. Even though I prefer younger men, they are not all mature nor intelligent. I stopped seeing a guy because I felt like I was his second mother. He is very sweet, very honest and couldn't be an ******* if he tried but he is a man-child. I'm not talking about being young at heart either. This guy isn't stupid or anything but my god is he immature. I raised my son already and I wasn't about to raise another one.

I met a beautiful man that lives about 2 hours away. Don't know how when where, but he is worth trying the drive for now. But long term don't know.
