I have a 1999 Chrysler 300M with 55K miles, I have a 2002 Chevy Z71 pickup with 77K miles. I work on my own vehicles to save money, I don't finance vehicles (or anything else) to save money, I don't need or want anyone in my life who is impressed by, or judges me by, the vehicle I CHOOSE to drive.

The result of my attitude about vehicles has resulted in me being able pay cash for something I DON'T NEED.....more than one new car.

One of the things on my bucket list is to hire a Harley and drive the length of Route 66. Nothing original in that but not something I've ever done. If I find I can't handle the Harley, I'll settle for a Cobra........ I once had a kit car, part built myself which was an accurate copy of a 289 Cobra. Huge fun that was!

You're never too old to start riding a bike - just give me time, I have plenty of that these days! happy

I did 160mph in my Road Runner at 16 with no brakes at 3am.
I've driven cars sitting on a cement block.
I've driven trucks with no brakes.
I've had a hood pop open on a two-lane highway in a snowstorm.
I've been driving since 1977 and I died in a car accident in 1990.
In the last 10 years, I have not had one accident nor a ticket except for a brainfart seatbelt ticket.
I have driven professionally and recreationally.
I don't really do anything special.
I pay attention to the task at hand.

I'm a driver, legally since '72. Then I was killed in a T bone crash in '74 when a guy in a '70 Road Runner ran a stop sign and hit the door of my '67 GTO at 70 mph. In '79 I started racing stock cars for 4 years. Since then I've gone a long way, many years over 100,000 miles. I've driven in the UK, I've driven on the continent and allover North America. Now I live in Nebraska and even if I wanted to stop driving it would be out of the question.

I've driven a lot of things but have a couple left in the bucket list: a formula 1 car, a big bulldozer or bucket loader, and fly a WWII combat aircraft. Oh, and a really high speed boat (100mph or faster).

I have a 20 mile rule ,no trips under 20 miles in the car if I can do it on a bus or train, Being over 65 in the UK most of my bus trips and some train trips are free or at a big discount ,I also enjoy the health aspect of walking and often get off the bus two stops early to do this.In good weather I also cycle for both shopping and pleasure

Replying to posts about men who dont drive n date women who do

That sounds sexist 2 me. Prove that 2 yourself by asking if ,in this day n age, u still expect to be picked up by a man or if u feel its ok 4 the woman to not drive anymore but ok if she'll date a man with a car. After decades of driving, paying for meals etc men deserve to be treated as you were. Pay back at least some of the consideration we gave n gave n gave....

I notice Men don't drive yet want to date ! grumble I really don't like that.

But he could be a nice man .

Older men may could get a young woman to drive them , if He pays for her Car.

I like to drive and am always happy to pick up a lady and take her to the dance, the shops, or wherever it is we're going.

I don't think a practical approach to these things can be called 'sexist' it's just doing the thing that suits you best. Some men drive and some don't, for various reasons. Some women drive and some don't for various reasons. Just do whatever suits and ignore people who think you're sexist if you don't do what *they* think you should be doing!
