There's alot more to the military than guns & ammo. There's communication experts, code breakers, first aid workers, strategists, and so on & so on. Sorry, but this idea is a horrible one and again one that's asking for dissaster, not to mention would be obviously closing jobs. An all citisen army would equate to mobb rule, what happens when you hand over arms to sleeper cells? What happens when we have to fight wars, as usual, overseas? You know why international wars are fought overseas? It's because of our advanced military, their advanced strategies and advanced technology. Please, you guys can practice isolationist economics if you want, but leave our military out of it;^]

lets have a free america week to legalize (so called victomless

I actualy brought that up in the begining of this thread and in the other one. I think we should legalise & regulate drugs, prostitution, gambling and polygamy as well. Especialy with drugs, if we can funnel the taxes made to rehabilitation programs than indeed the "war on drugs" could take a new, more effective approach;^]

As I said earlier:To help America we need to get rid of a bunch of worthless laws, more laws less freedom, More freedom ,less laws. More Laws implies less freedom, it is really a simple matter,and will come to that eventually by necessity, it is like gravity it is hard to defy it. Also the Constitution implies that if there is no victim, then there is no crime, So I would like to know: what are all these people doing in jail that have never victimized anyone? It is plain to me that the govts have been the biggest law breakers,by violating our Constitution (treason)putting people in jail without cause(victimless crimes) So really anyone in jail that has not harmed or damaged others have not committed any crime according to our Constitution(highest law of the land)Our govt has been guilty of crimes for a long time now. Time to set things right!!!!

It's been the same two people responding to your view on how to save "America". Maybe I should have let that last reply go. But I think you misread my replies, this topic is about buying american products only & I have no interest in this kind of isolation economics. So why would I do anything about it but to discuss the fault of said logic?;^]

America is supposed to be a REPUBLIC (rule of law and the Constitution IS THE LAW) whereas a democracy is mob rule (don't care about the law) Two wolves and a sheep vote on what are we having for dinner?No law involved there. Our system has sort of deteriorated into that idea(democracy) If people drawing checks (govt checks)out number the rest of us they vote themselves pay raises(parasites)They don't care about law or love of neighbor, no principles, just mob rule??? America needs to get back to love of neighbor and love of God!!!

Elimate 1/4 of the police? Considering how overworked the police force is I highly doubt that. Allow them to work more efficiantly yes, eliminate any of their jobs no. And to keep the "less laws" and "less government" notion in check legalising these things would bring more laws and more government. These things will have to be regulated and monitored, we don't need dirty corperations messing with the purity of said drugs or to let the prostitution orginisations run rampant with diseases, we don't need polygamists abusing children nor do we need casinos fixing their games. I actualy posted my prop. for legalising marijuana a while back & addressed those concerns within it, and btw I don't indulge in any of these things. What I don't get, you say you want to protect peoples jobs but then endorse smo's plan to eliminate the military and say eliminate 1/4 of the police force, do want jobs or not? What good is your practice of isolation economics if the only job you want to protect is factory jobs?;^]

dont get me wrong, im not in support of NO law, but rather a lot less. Another idea i have is the nuisance lawsuit, where there would be three possible verdicts, guilty, not guilty or frivolus. If found to be frivolus, there would be a fat penalty, something like three times the damages sought. This action would empty out our courts and make room for real crimes, and issues. Less govt, cops, lawyers, ect could do the same job, and actually concentrate on REAL crime for once. This equates to less expendature for govt services, which equals less taxation, which in turn equals a more robust economy. I dont share your enthusiasm for big fat government, but i recognise some is nessassary. I say go back to the basics, the const,and the bill of rights. this would clear out a lot of alphabet suop agencies which have been userping our rights since before we all were born.( IRS, ATF, ECT.) We think it is normal, But It has grown WAY out of control. Less taxes always equal a better economy, which equals JOBS. THATS NON REVISIONST HISTORY LESSON # 12. It ALWAYS WORKS THAT WAY, OR HAS EVERY SINGLE TIME UP TO NOW IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.
AS for those "overworked" police that we need more of, i couldent disagree more on that one. Buncha corrupt people as a rule. some are honest but most are more corrupt than the so called criminals they pursue. We really could use some more control over THIER activities. They do work for us in case they forgot.... They used to be PEACE OFFICERS, now thier law enforcement officers. theres a big red clue for ya there from rambill.
