I agree completely - when things are done they are done. It's cool to stay friends if both people want it but otherwise just move on with your life.

Though never having been married, I respect all my ex lovers - I guess that's 'cause I pick those with lasting qualities.

I actually am pretty good friends with my ex wife and we get along pretty well. Which is good because we have a 4 year old daughter together. But I think if we never had a child together, we probably wouldn't keep in contact with each other. But I respect her a lot. She is a great person and I wish her all the happiness in life.

Now my ex-girlfriend, that's a different story. I could care less if I ever see or hear from her or even about her again!!! She's a piece of work. Very dishonest and just plain messed up!!!

Staying angry and bitter serves no purpose!

Out of respect for what you once shared, it is best to forgive and just try to be civil. If that is not possible and you don't need to have any contact, move on and learn from it!

And maybe they don't.

jtip ~ my remarks were not directed at you, just general observations. Sounds like you've been mature about things with the ex-wife. Important when children are involved!

An ex is an ex for a reason! There is no need to talk, see, or anything else with them. Unless you have children together.

Sperm donor about sums up mine too, Fresh. Although I will admit it wasn't clinical and a heck of a lot more fun. His choice to miss out on the kids lives. Respect him? That would have to be a no.
