We are carving a pumpkin tonight and my neighbor wants some pumpkin seeds...he asked me if I use hot sauce on them when I bake them.huh
I have always done it the "classic way" or so I thought. Wash lightly so there's no strings, spread them on lightly buttered cookie sheet and salt the heck out of them..bake 10-15min. and salt them some more.
Neighbor guy said he washes them thouroughly and tosses them lightly in hot sauce and bakes them! Salts them afterwards. yuc! Any one do it differant?

Instead of the second dose of pepper I use Parmesan cheese.

try the hot sauce
pumpkin seeds are known to be extremely nutritious as well as a big aphrodisiac.
and because salt isn't so good for you and hot, spicy foods are... maybe the hot sauce will be a good alternative.

i'm not crazy about hot sauce either but i tried it on popcorn once....omg it completely changed the flavor...so much better.

I don't wash my seeds, leave the slime on.
We like just a little garlic salt on them before baking.

Kinda like the skin on potatos. Better flavor too, and it just bakes off anyway.laugh
