My nightly escapades
Tell me my mother

I say, she'll call
Whenever she wants
Or have me fired.

Cause now I'm
Fired up, I'll stop
Your shaky reasons
Your faulty mind that
Calls me unprofessional
While you discuss
Golf and sports
For hours on end
Prepare golf league stats
And copies of scores
So the "good old boys"
Can stop and chat
Business of course.

Take your 15 minute breaks
In a room I no longer
Venture into since
The Christian atmosphere
Has the town drunk
A retired chief of police
Commenting I'm getting
Too old to have my
Legs behind my head.

So you see, dear man
And I use the term
Loosely, respecting not
Your age or religious leanings
It's time you see
That my breaks are taken
At my desk, solitary
Out of view of
Attitudes that pollute
My peaceful day.

I have been wronged
More than once in
This family run business
Of such good Christians
Who listen to me,
Sympathize and
Do nothing.
I've endured endless
Wrongs in the name
Of Christianity
I've been driven to
Church memorials on
Company time
Am constantly told I
Need to find a Good
Christian Man, while
Two married co-workers
Good Christians in your
Book, followed me home
Wanting good, clean fun.

So please stop with the
Bible verses on my desk
Every Monday morning
Or the lists of
Verses telling me
Astrology is the
Work of the Devil
Or the pamphlets to
Be saved- praise Jesus.

Don't push me
One more time
Or you'll find a
Dose of my justice
In your face
Enough is enough
And I'll fight back
With two little words
I'm sure leave a bad
Taste in your mouth
Sexual Harrassment
So open your eyes
To what I say
Pray on all of this
Overnight, if you will
Because I'm full up
With your holy justice
Because fight if I must
Know that I will win
In God We Trust.

Truth is that kind of behaviour is appalling and unacceptable and no one should have to put up with it. The hypocrisy is glaring! All too often it is swept under the rug out of fear. I love the strength and resilience in your writing... love IT!!!

Yes, it is amazing that people think this behavior and comments are acceptable in our culture. No one should have to endure and everyone should speak up. I know this happens far more than we care to admit.
