that marriage should only be between a man and a woman.

It is obvious Miss California lost the USA crown for her beliefs about marriage.

Perez Hilton is the real A**HOLE.

If there is a YouTube moment from Sunday's show, it may be Miss California's answer to a question about legalizing same-sex marriage. The tall blonde stumbled some before giving an answer that appeared to please the pageant audience.

"We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage," Prejean said. "And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Some in the audience cheered, others booed. The answer sparked a shouting match in the lobby after the show.

Its a popular movement right now. If your against it than you part of the old system that needs to be whipped out. If your for it than your a person with no morals who has orgies with men and women everyday.

I could care less about the debate since I'm not gay and prefer to spend time with cats and playing WOW.

What you are wondering why people boed? She basically called poeple in the audience and their family members inferior to the way she was raised.. Get it yet?

Obviously she knew ahead of time it would be offensive or she would not have said 'NO offense to anybody' didn't stop her though did it.

You can't say no offense to anybody after you offend them. Or you can but don't expect a warm response.

I was raised a christian too and in a christian family. Guess my family deserves to be put down, because their daughter is gay?

I keep trying to have patience with this whole thing, but the more ignorant people are the more irritated I become.

Personaly I think it was an unfair question. Besides what the heck do girls that young know about the gay community. Nothing but what they are taught by their parents and churches. She spoke her mind? Or her parents mind.. Or she parroted her parents view..

Shes not that young.. 18 or 19 maybe. I didn't know you had to be old to know about the gay community. I hear too much about it all the time and I'm 27. Sometimes I wish they would be quiet for a moment and stop with the drama.

Oh wait, you can't have gays without having drama laugh

One knows very little about the gay community at that age other than the surface. I might say the same about the straight community as well, lots of drama there too, but it's not my focus so I can't say I hear it all the time unless I am deliberatly listening.

You jumped right in this thread for someone it matters so little to.

Ah and that makes her an expert on gays? Hell I wasn't an expert on gays at that age and I was already gay. Because you can drink vote and serve doesn't make you worldly or an expert.

is anyone REALLY an expert??? i was pointing out that she is old enough to form her own opinion and take the consequences. for all we know she could have just answered that to win the crown. you'd be surprised at what people would do to win a pageant.

because someone may be against it or for it doesn't mean they aren't thinking for themselves. she may know alot of the gay community and formed her own opinion. it's everyone's right to have an opinion. in this case, she got cheered and boo'd. they asked the question and she answered it for whatever reason she formed her belief

my son is 18 and can think for himself and form his own opinion....whether it's the same as mine or not

Perez Hilton Calls Carrie Prejean, Miss California, A "Dumb *****" for Saying Marriage Should be Between a Man and a Woman During Miss USA Pageant
Posted by Janet Shan

I cannot understand why gays and lesbians feel that they must push their sexual orientation in our faces. I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman. They can't seem to respect the rights of others to feel that way. Did Perez Hilton, who asked the question about gay marriage to Miss California, Carrie Prejean, video-blogged on his website calling her a "dumb *****." Was that really necessary? Don't we have a right in this country to our own opinion?

Amen, lady. I agree with you.

Yeah, if she'd have wanted to really win, she'd have taken a lesson from Politicians and told them what they wanted to hear.
She's a winner in my book for telling her truth, not just pleasing the crowd.

the catch with the judges is...you never know what they want to hear. some contestants want to appear to be "wholesome and innocent" and will say what they think makes them that way

pageants are more cut throat than hockey. at least in hockey they do it to your face. pageants are brutal behind the scenes
