Are we waiting for the next clue or what? Is it because you're a driver?

lol...I was posting in other threads.....yep...I drive and I can't stand seeing them....lost a family member in an accident and I don't need reminded.

I am sorry for your loss. However, it must be therapeutic in some way for them. There is some reason why they wish to mark that spot, either in memory of their loved one, or as a warning to others of that location, i.e. hill, curve, etc.

And yet I would think it would prolong the closure..I don't know.
It's a matter of opinion of course.
Which is why I like posting these kind of topics...instead of...what did you eat for lunch today???!!!
Not that there's anything wrong with those threads either!!!

I just like to stir up deeper conversations.

Let me assure you there is no such thing as "closure". You get on with it, you live with it, you accept it. It is a matter of opinion and I think for the most part people know why they are there and are able to accept that it is from a grieving family.

By the way, in the movies when somebody is on life support...they just lay there still.....in real life it's much different.

Yep. Because no one would likely watch it if it shows what end of life is really like.

It scared the crap outta me.
Then we had to decide to keep her on or off.....hard times.

You missed the Pens cup Parade yesterday...they said over 500,000 people showed up...which I find hard to believe.
Downtown PGH is only about 3 miles wide or sumthin'

I like stirring up diff. kinds of conversations...these roadside mems. remind me....not this thread.
I drive about 200-300 miles a day...see them all the time.Thats what reminds me. Some are in places that are dangerous to the people taking care of them and one day they might get hit by a truck etc.

In which case there would be another memorial added which would anger you even more.

what is wrong with them???

I don't see anything wrong with them. They're respectful. They help the family heal.

I think that they're good reminders that people can get killed when driving in those locations.

There is one on a dangerous street in my area. It was there for awhile. Once a month a group of people were seen there. They were praying.

Always found it difficult to take that interpretation when the road was flat and straight and going between two level cornfields,,,
