So what is the deal about locked topics? Last night a few of the topics that I post on regularly were not locked and when I get on today I find out they are. Under what circumstances does a topic get locked and who would authorize for a topic to get locked. Im just confused and looking for an answer.

they lock automatically at 50 pages now, and a continuation thread starts
man and van put it on to take some of the load off their database...or something like that

Usually it's deemed offensive or someone gets hot headed and gets the thread axed 'cuz they can;t control the tongue. Insulting others here is the unforgivable sin. The mediators seem to get the job done right though.

Well there are threads that I post on that are at over 80 pgs and not locked yet. Also there have been no offensive language or bashing people on the other ones. I was just surprised to find out a few of my favorite threads were locked.

They just started it today so all of them should lock soon if they are over 50 pages

this is correct if it is due to offensive language or drama the whole thread will be deleted instead if those areas are all in one area at times they will take those post out of the thread but if through out the thread the whole post will be taken out.

As far as the 50 pages that just started and before some ran only 50-70 and some ran over but it had alot to do the size and contents of the threads before they noticed them.

But from now only will be the 50 to help take the load off the server.

Once they are locked the thread will still continue just a new one will appear
