I suppose there is context that needs inflection and tonality to impart
your meaning. If you use the word love as you use it for a kitten or a
beer, than there is nothing to fear. If you use it on a first date and
cut off a lock of that persons hair so you can add it to the hair doll
you are making of that person, so then you can tell the hair doll how
much you love that person, then it's somewhat scary.

Those are really the only two scenarios the word is used right?

Be as creative as possible. If you have spoken a lot (which it sounds
like you have) then take special note of the personal things she has
shared with you. You could then say, go to a Kinkos' and print out some
of the more romantic things the two of you have shared and have it bound
into a book (they will do both for you). Just one example, but anything
really that let's her know you are listening.

3 Dearly departed sea monkeys

I can't get the sea monkeys to stop eating the jelly beans! Oh now I
see what the duct tape is for *ripping sound*.

Making Strides Center in Pocasset, MASS, those kids taught me so much it
was amazing.
