The thing we don't get is why can't he just say he's upset cause the Harley wouldn't start? Especially when most men are fully well aware of our need to diagnose every frown and silence. I believe this is called torture!
If he had told her he was upset cause the Harley wouldnt start...... His Diary entry would have read like this...... Dear Diary, Harley wouldnt start....wife asked what was wrong ...told her......she laughed ....called me a baby....didnt get laid..... |

I agree that not all men fit this description, just like not all women own 567398403 shoes. 
That being said, I do agree that there are some basic differences in how most men and women think about the health of a relationship. It has always seemed to me that men don't let the issues within a relationship dictate how they feel about their partner, while women tend to feel that the issues define the relationship. Therefore, the lack of a mans interest in addressing it makes them feel like they don't care about them and not just the issue at hand. I actually see it as a hidden strength, that men tend to view the relationship as stronger than any given issue within it, so it is a non issue in their minds. It still cannot be helped that women will usually take noncompliance as a slap in the face. Therefore argument and hurt feelings cannot be helped in most cases. My only evidence of this is simply what I personally read between the lines in the repetitive and age old argument.... He says, "I don't see what the big deal is." She says, "You would, if you really cared my feelings." And that's all I've got on this subject. 
This is a very good understanding of "our nature" We Do see the relationship as being greater than the issues...... but at the same time we just dont make mountains out of mole hills We tend to see the "whole" asgreater than its parts...... Example.......a sixpack is <> or = to a beer???/ |
