I wanted to update all of you on the release of my Poetry Collection, "Running on Fumes", which will be available starting the third week of this January.

I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all of you who have offered your friendship, encouragement and support during a difficult year and helping me to keep focused on my work; it has meant a great deal to me.

With much love, gratitude and many well wishes for a Happy New Year to all!

Alicia Winski

~Running on Fumes~

Fine lines define
this road map etched
upon my face.

A highway of information
stored around each and every turn.

The single, thin line
I started out on
mistakingly thinking

“This is going to be
a fast paced ride …”

Was often slow …
… and tortuous

My country roads so small and fine,
delicately merging onto a street
littered with ‘Stop’ and ‘Go’

and I’ve run many a stop sign

The main thorough,
down a slick, fast-paced freeway,
so many exits to choose,
too many taken,
only after I’ve entered
the wrong ‘on ramp’
taking such a
heavy toll on me …

Yes,
it’s been a long drive,
consuming priceless
emotional fuel
and I wonder wearily …

How far can I go
before I run out of gas?

"As I say so long
To a fairytale dream
And no longer a girl
I just can't pretend
Everything's happy
In the end"

You are a beautiful woman with a beautiful and loving heart. This was a lovely piece of work~

Gentle white kisses baptize my face
as a golden choir sings softly
in heavenly grace

Feeling crisp cold melt on my tongue,
a gentle reminder of when I was young …

The warm scent of dreams,
disguised in gentle, green pine,
decorated with memories of when you were mine…

Glittering jewels shine behind cathedral glass panes,
where cherubic children sing in hopeful refrain
with eyes glimmering bright with sweet anticipation
while my own deadened dreams lie in dusty cremation…

It‘s another Christmas, the season of giving
with expectations held high by those with hopes living…

Yet wishes are birthed in a joyous Yuletide
even for those whose dreams have withered and died…

You see we‘re all little children, no matter how old
with desires and dreams of pure Christmas gold.

Here you go sunshine *smile* the full version~

Oh, Golden Boy,
you've gone and done it now

You’ve ripped my ****ing heart out
with your deliberate deception
instilling in me a foul infection of
distrust and doubt leaving me
with nothing more than the thought
that all you’ve ever said and done
is suspect in my eyes

Depriving me of my faith in you
was the cruelest thing you could do
to an already wounded and wary woman
whose belief in the innate goodness
of mankind was anchored on you
and the purity of your smile

But your actions proved to be self-serving
as you ripped out and shredded a heart
undeserving of your blatant disregard
and careless disrespect

And still reeling from your lies
I look down to the ground traumatized
by the sight of a once vibrant and
precious entity now brutalized,
viciously slaughtered
beyond recognition

and I weep while I helplessly watch
as my Trust lies dying at my feet …

Why dont you just cut to the chase and post some poetry? that's the section you're on, yes? Life is too short for explanations sometimes. Show us your thoughts and let it go at that. flowerforyou
