Do you ever have days where you're depressed and you don't know why? Today is one of those days for me. It actually started last night at the bar I was at. I don't know why either. Normally I can pinpoint why I'm depressed or why I feel the way I feel, but today I can't. I just want to sleep all day because when I sleep I don't feel depressed, but I have stuff I need to get done today.

I know this might sound really weird, but I miss being a cashier. When I was a little girl, I remember the moment that I wanted to be a cashier. That was my DREAM job. I was lucky enough to be a cashier for 6 years. It was something I was good at. It was a job that was simple, you know? There were no "politics" involved with the job or anything. I loved interacting face to face with customers. I loved being their favorite cashier. I wish my current job that I had would allow me to have a second job and I'd be a cashier again in a heartbeat.

Anyone else as stoked as I am for the white stuff? Can't wait until the resorts open up and I can get the season started. Or are you dreading having to shovel you driveway and hiding inside your house hoping it melts before you have to go outside? If your the latter, my sympathies, but I'm still praying for more so you'll just have to deal with it. I'm actually kind of excited for the snow this year 'cause I wanna learn how to ski. I have to take 2 weeks of vacation next month, so I'm hoping there's enough snow by then that I can take a ski lesson.

Different people are inspirations for me in different parts of my life. Like with my triathlons and stuff like that, my inspiration came from a father/son team called Team Hoyt that I saw on Oprah a looooooooong time ago. I saw that they were doing triathlons and marathons and I said if they can do it then I can do it. I believe their website is www.teamhoyt.com. As for another part of my life, I hope this doesn't sound conceded, but I am the inspiration. I sat down one day and I was so stinkin' tired of always being depressed and stuff like that and I decided that I can change that. Ever since then, I've made a conscious effort every day to have a good day. Granted, I still have some bad days, but for the most part, I try and be positive.

Yes, it does get difficult when you come across name changes. Once you get back to the days when most people couldn't read or write, names can be very 'open to interpretation'! I spent years looking for census reports for someone in my direct line. Their name was HULLOT, which was how I was doing my search. Eventually I found them. Their name had been recorded on the census as 'OOLO'. Of course, they were French, and they'd obviously told the census taker that their name was HULLOT, but 'OOLO' was what he heard! I'm getting closer and closer now to the days of William the Conqueror, and most of my names on my tree are slowly changing back to their original spellings. Later generations were listed as BOWFORT, then further back it changes to BEAUFORT, then DE BEAUFORT. Which site do you use? I find the ancestry site to be by far the best. I'm really lucky because in Downtown Salt Lake City is the Family History Library for the LDS Church. Even though I'm not an active member of the LDS church, I go to that library and I can use ancestry.com for free.
