It depends on what the thread is about. To me a thread is an ongoing conversation amongst friends. If it is serious and the person wants help, make sure what you say is helpful or don't say anything. If it is humorous, have fun with it, we are all supposed to be friends. I don't think you have to acknowledge every comment, but it sure helps if you thank the ones that helped you.

Argh!!! Can't say I blame them, but I can understand the angst on your part, too!!! Get better, feel better!!!! drinker

If they would send the sick children home when they have green junk coming out of their nose I wouldn't be sick. It's all about MONEY....so sad...and even more said being this is a Church!

Oh they want me back at 6:15 for CPR and training classes. Everyone should be sick after I breathe on that dummy laugh makes no sense.

Bless you my child. Would you pass me some more ammunition, please? Please don't cough you may drop some.

You know, you guys are great. You brought up quite a few valid points. Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it is learning how to dance in the rain!

My friend will be elated. I hope.

My idea of a decent guy is someone who's honest, dependable and an all round stand up guy. A sense of humor and easy going nature is a must. All these things are hard to come by and then just to make it that much harder there has to be chemistry and I can't explain that it's either there or it's not. Needless to say I'm not having an easy time either! Good luck! flowerforyou

ok Trust Me I have a better bottle of wine at my place It's only an overnighter what do you think could happen?laugh laugh

Do guys bring flowers any more? Does our age play a factor in what we expect from the other person?

I'm usually happy if the person I am dating shows up.

Hiker

He used an empty elevator to go downstairs to take his break. No guards, no one running the elevator, no signs saying restricted area do no enter or use elevator without permission.

It doesn't have to make sense, it is real, and real is scary.

I imagine this went against security and he will be evaluated for a while before they let this go. Bypassing security checks points is pretty bad these days. flowerforyou

That is an interesting twist, but security checkpoints must be manned by guards, have restricted access signs posted and all doors locked. When you go through an unlocked and unguarded door to an open and operating elecvator with no restricted access signs, you haven't done anything wrong. maybe someone else has done something wrong like not shutting off the eleavtor or locking an access door. Security at the stadium and arena is similar to miltary intelligence. Thanks

I don't get it. Was there a memo banning use of that particular elevator? Was it a service only elevator? So far sounds wacked to me. I think he should seek an attorney and see if he can't clear up any misunderstanding through mediation to wipe his record of clean of notices. It does not sound as if it should have gone this far, but may need to go further to be cleared up. That's prob not real helpful. ohwell

I think you have got it. The last step is mediation with management's attorney. Very convenient don't you think. Where else could you be forced to negotiate for what you already have.

OK but I still don't understand on what basis they are doing this. What are they claiming that he did?

I don't either.

I think they wanted someone out of the way so they could do other stuff they shouldn't be doing. None of it makes sense, and the union's reaction doesn't ring true either.

huh That sucks. He should go see a lawyer. How old is he, maybe it is age discrimination?
Its that obvious huh? Amazing what you can get away with but pretending it didn't happen.sad

He did talk to union, met with them twice and they filed formal grievance but management is ignoring it!

Strange but true.

He hasn't been terminated. Just given a warning notice, but they locked him out of his job! He has seniority he should be working every event and they won't let him work.

This is a real situation. A man works at Giants Stadium and The Arena for 15+ years. No bad marks on his record, has only missed working five(5) events in those years. It is a union shop and this guy has very high seniority.

One day during an event he uses an open elevator to go downstairs to a break. First time he ever used the thing. His bosses see him tell him he shouldn't use it and he apologizes. cas Closed? Not a chance.

Five days later he goes to the Stadium to work a three day event and he is denied access. He is told he is terminated and must file a grievance.
Heis advised a certified letter was sent to him five days ago. he goes to his PO Box picks up the letter and it is not a termination, it is a warning notice to do better next time.

Meanwhile he files a grievance and his bosses refuse to hear it but he has never been fired etc.
What do you think? Discrimination? Hostile Work Environment? Three warning Notices and several letters precede any termination under union contract.

What do you think this guy should do? I know it is a bum topic, but reality ain't cute.

I've lived in New Jersey for years. After my wife died I waited a long time before dating. I then tried dating with several jersey girls, but I always felt like I needed to dress a lot warmer because it was cold!!! They all seemed to want to hide something or they were holding back not wanting to openly communicate.

I don't think I am better than anyone, and I don't think I scare people? What's up? What am I missing? Am I too nice for jersey girls?
