its my opinion that it would be a mutual decision based on what each person feels about that stage of there or a relationship .. every relationship we have is going to be different . so that is only an answer the two people with in that union can decide ... I think of it as the first steps of understanding how the communication will flow within the beginning of the relationships .its the application of respect for setting and crossing boundaries. Just my two cents worth
