Appetite for Destruction is one of the best rock albums of all time. Everything else after that was kind of weak. No Slash = No GNR. Axl is the least talented member of the original band and he's an asshole.

Now let's define what hardcore is before we start discussing it because you mentioned screamo stuff as hardcore, which it is not. Bands like Agnostic Front, Cro-Mags, Sheer Terror, Bad Brains are hardcore but the bands that you mentioned earlier certainly cannot be classified as hardcore.
