Finger paintings

It's almost Christmas the children are ablaze with excitement.
A collage of finger paintings adorns the walls.
Stacy's small tender hands captures melancholy.
Trapped within dementia, she paints a spiritual reality.

She stays home sick, confused by her Autism.
Sitting outside on the sidewalk, Stacy watches a parade of angels.
Escorting her friends, and teachers into the loving light of the Lord.
Amidst sirens, reporters, media, police, grievous parents, and confusion.
Stacy sits at the base of a sign, that reads Welcome to Newton.
Sandy Hook Elementary five miles.....

Finger paintings now hang quietly, as a memorial of days gone by.
Their loving innocence, joy, and laughter captured eternally in paint.
Echo silently on the walls of our hearts.... smokin

Premonition

The corridor lights flicker, darkness lunges.
Blood spews out of school lockers.
Thunder, and screams echo within the hallways!!!!
Through the Graffiti the word Columbine drifts to the surface.
Jolted back into lifes reality of a dream.
She wakes in a cold sweet.
Emily stays home the next morning.....smokin
