IMHO I believe a beautifully penned document is worth it's weight in gold. Cursive writing is elegant. Now...is it necessary? Probably not. If the school system where I live were to remove it from the curriculum it wouldn't upset me. Schools do their best to arm our kids for the current world and cursive writing isn't crucial to surviving in today's culture.

That being said, if they did do away with it, I would not hesitate to teach my children how to write in cursive. I strongly believe that our schools are NOT primarily responsible for the education of our kids. We, as parents, are their first, and most important teacher. No one in the schools taught my children how to walk. How to ride a bicycle. How to say "please" and "thank you." I taught them that.

Parents seem to be too willing to blame the shortfalls of their children's education on the schools. If you find your educational system lacking, try sitting down with your kids and teaching them the things that you believe are important for them to know.

True stalking is a terrifying experience for the victim. We joke about being stalked but the truth of the matter is that true stalking victims fear for their lives and the lives of those they love. Stalkers are predators. Most have severe mental health disorders. They generally have an "if I can't have him/her no one else can either" attitude. There have been plenty of documented cases where the victim of a stalking ends up dead or physically harmed. At the very least, the emotional damage is far reaching.

Imagine looking over your shoulder every time you walk out the door. The fear every time you open the mailbox that there will be another threatening letter. The terror of walking from your car into a building.

I'm as willing as anyone to joke about certain things, but stalking isn't one of them. Stalking is illegal and dangerous and damaging to all involved.

Just made these for breakfast. They're too good not to share.

6 pieces of bacon - cooked until done but not crispy
6 eggs
1 cup of shredded cheese - whatever you like
Fresh dill

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cook the bacon until it is done but not crispy. Place on paper towels to cool. Spray the bottom and sides of cupcake pan. Line the sides of 6 cupcake cups with a piece of bacon each. (They don't have to be perfect. Helps if they stand up a little.) Crack one egg into each cup in the middle of the piece of bacon. Sprinkle with cheese and top with fresh dill. (Dried dill will do but isn't quite as good.)

Place the cupcake pan in preheated oven and bake for 13-15 minutes.

Loosen the sides with a knife, remove and enjoy.
