Topic: message alerts

I also am not getting message alerts even though I checked the section for mail settings and it
is checked to receive message alerts, why is this, when I think to come on to the site I have messages
from 20 hrs or days ago. No I'm not getting anything in my spam i check that everyday. Please help
with this.
