My best friend's sister met a guy online who claimed he was in the military.
After she died recently, my friend found out she had shoveled over $400,000 into that online romance.

She likely was drunk as she was an alcoholic that was twice widowed - the first time to another military guy she served concurrently with, which made her a bit more susceptible to the "I'm in the military" approach, one supposes - but nearly half a million bux in smaller increments? :astonished:
That scammer must have engaged her for months with promises he never intended to keep.

Very likely his success is an institutional case-lesson taught at "Scammer U" to incentivize all the scammers we field here on Mingle2.
