There was a man
That helped me through
Teaching me the things
That he knew

He's been gone
For just a week
Already for him
My heart does seek

He taught me always
To keep my word
Through the hard times
His voice I heard

There was a time
When he came to me
Though in pain
He'd promised me

This memory now
Is a wonderful thing
To my face
A smile it does bring

I miss this man
With all my heart
Of my life
He'll always be part

I'm telling you about
My uncle of late
As he walks through
Heaven's Golden Gate

I'll always remember
The stories he told
And how he had
A heart of gold

Though I'm sad
He has passed
I'm glad he's resting
In peace at last

So dear Uncle
I want you to know
I'm going to miss you
And I love you so
