I never really got why a toaster always represented a new home.
like the stereotype for house warming gifts.... well any who.. My friend and I are starting to buy little things here and there for when we get our new apartment in another month or two.... We got a toaster. |

The toaster represents the mind-blur that so many experience when looking for a gift for a new home. I am with you in that I don't know why it is the standard--but it is. Buy me bread because if I'm in my mid-thirties and I don't already have a toaster there may indeed be little hope for me.
