By the Numbers: (from The Heritage Foundation, MyHeritage.org)

$2.4 Trillion: The overall tax increase faced by American families, seniors and businesses if President Bush's tax cuts expire.

$1,716: The average tax increase for over 100 million Americans if tax cuts are allowed to expire.

$2,034: The average tax increase that will hit 17 million seniors if President Bush's tax cuts expire.

$91 Billion : The cost of reinstating the Death Tax.

$29 Billion: The amount spent in 2006 by Congress on frivolous "Pork" projects that use taxpayer funds to reward local special interests and pressure groups.

$1,480 The average cost in 2000 for couples punished by the Marriage Penalty.

44 Million: The number of married couples affected by the Marriage Penalty before it was reduced by President Bush. These families will be hit hard once again if the Marriage Penalty is reinstated.

Just some information to think about if President Bush's tax cuts are not made permanent.

This is more Republican propaganda! grumble grumble
Just another page from the indoctrination manual!!laugh

Why would this burden fall on the middle class, when you would really make ten times that rolling back the cuts he made on the oil companies and corporations? Just by rearranging the programs the budget subsidizes you could come out ahead, while providing real help for Americans! Real help in areas like education and health!

Then there's the billions he spent on mismanagement of the war in Iraq!

Toasted:

Eliminating all the 'pork' would give the economy a great boost.

Democrats (IF they get in) will raise taxes so high even YOU will be screaming. AND, it will not pay for the war. It will go to the democrats 'pork' projects.

You, more than likely, you are young and single. See how you feel once you own a house and/or raise a family or want to start your own business.

Well, if you feel that strongly, I am sure the IRS will take whatever extra money you want to donate to apply towards taxes.

Do not know what else to tell you.

OH, and do not forget the $600 rebate you will be getting starting in approximately the middle of May.

Glad to see you are responsible and get your income tax return filed on time/early.

Here is the Reality !!

From the cia world fact book!

https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/geos/us.html#Econ

The US:
Economy

Long-term problems include inadequate investment in economic infrastructure, rapidly rising medical and pension costs of an aging population, sizable trade and budget deficits, and stagnation of family income in the lower economic groups. The merchandise trade deficit reached a record $847 billion in 2007. Together, these problems caused a marked reduction in the value and status of the dollar worldwide in 2007.

GDP (purchasing power parity):
$13.86 trillion (2007 est.)
GDP (official exchange rate):
$13.79 trillion (2007 est.)
GDP - real growth rate:
2.2% (2007 est.)
GDP - per capita (PPP):
$46,000 (2007 est.)

GDP - composition by sector:
agriculture: 0.9%
industry: 20.6%
services: 78.5% (2007 est.)

Notice the percentage of services!!
A lot of these jobs are min wage! Now look up there at the GDP-per capita, it doesn't mean everyone makes that, that's an average. Considering how many in this country level below the poverty line, I think that number signifies a growing gap between the haves and the have-nots!

Most of those tax-cuts Bush has given have went to the wealthy. In the meantime the infrastructure is being ignored. Bridges are crumbling from age, dams are doing the same, and then FEMA dumped the Katrina fiasco in with that!
Then you have an aging population, many of which have no health insurance or retirement benefits.

I know Bush isn't the blame for it all, but if the Democrats offered a better choice than the two they are giving us, I'd jump so hard, and so fast away from John McCain, you wouldn't see me move!
(IMO) That just means that we are left with no real choice, or hope, in this election. I'm just trying to pick the one that will do the less harm! After 8 yrs of Bush, you'd think that wouldn't be hard to do!

Ah for the days when we would say FTW.
Now the world says FTUSA!!!

What discourages me is that the candidate who could have offered this country real hope was out here! The Damn Democrats were more concerned with making nonsensical history to support him. Now we are left with either, "the first woman or Black President," or John McCain..

Not much Hopefrown
Nor do I see any coming from the Republican side. At least the Damn Democrats are getting close!
