What's yer 20? Blairing out over the radio speaker
Heading up the mountainside, inclines getting steeper
Gears racing throttles down, pushing on the pedal
Winding up the rocky climb, in a cab of shiney metal.
Eating at the truckstop, right now this cab's his home
Watching smoke in the rearview,shooting from the chrome.

Phone calls to say hello, with the kids screaming "daddy"
Roaming over the USA with only a mobile "addy"
Cell phone, pay phone, internet, trying to keep in touch
Working man out on the road, for the family he loves so much
Yet it keeps him far from home, more often then he's there
Looking for the next roadsign, through the windshields glare.

You see them on the road all day, their running to and fro
Hauling cargo, freight and food with miles left yet to go.
They do their work so show respect they have families too
A truckers job aint easy, its a job thats tough to do.
Bonehead drivers, traffic jams, backing up the lanes
Sitting for hours at a time, muscle aches and pains


So next time your driving, by try giving them a smile
It Just might make their day If they've been traveling awhile
