Maya, mudbox, motion builder, etc. What have you used and what do you think of it.

I've used Amapi 3D, Maya PLE (Personal Learning Edition), some blender, and Carrara 5 Pro.

Of all of them, I like Carrara the best as it's the easiest to use. It's also much more affordable than Maya (which can get REALLY pricey). And it's still being developed, unlike Amapi 3D which was recently taken over and scavenged for another program.

Thanks for the info. I am going to be getting some of these programs and was just wanting some outside opinion before buying it. They are pretty pricy. I am hopeing to eventualy purchas Autodesk inferno for finishing the CG effects for movies. This will be a while though as the price is $230,000. sad sad sad sad

Blender is a good one if you have experience with 3d modeling and the likes, but a very difficult program to learn on.

Most Autodesk programmes require professional training for proper use that is my experience and those sessions can be as expensive as the programmes

Upgrading to AutoCAD 2008...

I've used AutoCAD all my professional life, and most A&E firms use that or Microstation.

For 3D modeling, Revit...
