I see, well the meal sounds just wonderful. I can almost smell the aroma. In Pa, we didn't live too far from a bread maker. Sunbeam bread, and once in a while - at night - the aroma was so good.

I love hot home made bread. I make it here sometimes. Hot and right out of the oven with butter on it. When you have that that's all you need. Well a cup of coffee too.bigsmile

Yesssss, those too and acorn squash baked with brown sugar and butter. I even like endive salad with hot vinegar and bacon dressing. Then there's always sliced and fried corn meal mush. A lot of those things are hold overs from the depression. Mom was very good at stretching things, having lived thru that era.

My mom used to make the best corn meal mush and hot biscuts and gravy. Still can't make biscuts like she did. Good with the gravy though. Oh!!! I love any kind of squash, I don't care what it is.You know we're doing it again don't youlaugh laugh bigsmile

The reason I dont like "OLEO" is that I remember mother mixing it up in a bowl and adding the 'orange dot' to give it color. Not very tasty.
