Waves crashing upon the shore
Carrying away the sand just a little more
And I sit at the edge
Where the ocean kisses the sand
Teasing it and taunting it
As it pulls away yet just a few more grains
And I wonder will it wash away my pains
As it has the grains of sand
Moving a bit closer
And the waves wash upon me
Pulling away my own grains of pain
Cleaning my soul
Repairing the hole
Filling it with something new
I rise and stand
Walking slowly across the sand
Looking over my shoulder
Seeing the sea carry away a blackened slick
No longer is my soul sick
