Police: Robber held gun backward

ORLANDO, Fla., June 3 (UPI) -- Authorities in Orlando, Fla., said security camera footage of a bank robbery shows the robber holding his gun backwards during the crime.

Orange County sheriff's investigators said the culprit held his gun in an unusual way during the robbery and at one point was holding the weapon backward, pointing it toward himself, WKMG-TV, Orlando, reported Tuesday.

"(The robber) is holding it in a manner that he's probably not familiar with handguns and was afraid it was going to go off," sheriff's detective Jason Sams said. "If that was a fake gun, he would be holding it normally because he wouldn't care."

Police said the robber was wearing a new Cleveland Indians hat and had a T-shirt tied around his neck, possibly to conceal a tattoo or other distinguishing mark.
