I am a bit amazed when I see that some members here have well over a thousand posts, and one gal has over 14 thousand. I can't help but wonder why anyone would spend that much time on a single site writing 'posts'. At some point doesn't it all become point-less? Or are they not really looking for someone, but just like to hang out in cyber space?

Are you aware that "friends" is an option? This is the best way to meet people.

Because other than looking for, and hopefully finding someone, we make a lot of friends on here too. Some are special enough that they carry on even when no longer on the site. I have found someone wonderful, but I still check in once or twice a week to answer emails from the many friends I have made along the way. Think about it like this, even if you find someone special, are you going to disown all previous friends and family? The forums are like hanging out with friends, and they are helpful and supportive in a lot of situations, they are a really great bunch of people.

I travel a lot, which means I can't take my friends with me. I joined looking for a way to spend lonely hotel nights, since I don't do bars or hang out with coworkers much. I met a lot of great friends here and enjoy hanging out and discussing issues with them and exchanging emails. I was not looking for love here, but it fell into my lap anyway. So now, it's a fun way of spending time with my fella and our friends. Woodlandstar, I hope we start seeing you around the forums more, there are a lot of great people here if you find the time to join in and get to know them.
