Her is a quote from the woman who thinks she should not have been arrested. Her reasoning is astounding.

"I'm a nurse. Ive been married for 30 years. I've got three educated daughters," said Brenda Bouschet, "I've never been in trouble. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I'm a good person. I'm a Christian."

"I'm a Christian."

Why gee! If we'd known that ma'am we would never have charged you!

Possible it is Florida after all. Where nothing seems to be out of the question.

well, first of all, i don't blame grandma for strapping the 3 year old to the top of her car, and driving off like chevy chase taking mother on vacation. what was the kid doing?

at least she knew where the kid was, and not getting into trouble...well maybe holding on for dear life.noway

and to the woman with the big hooters who likes dogs, being a christian has absolutely nothing to do with how grandma handles her kid. i think a catholic grandma driven to distraction might do the same thing, or check with a jewish grandma, or agnostic grandma. i think we all have thought of strapping our grandkids, and our own kids to the tops of cars once in our life. i know i have but never had the opportunity.laugh

I am not making generalizations about Christians. There are idiots of every denomination. Christian, Hindu, Shiite, Atheist...the list goes on.

What I find laughable is the woman in question asserting that her Christianity was one of the reasons she should not be charged!!

I also find it interesting that you defend this idiot with "at least she knew where the kid was."

It was a stupid move that endangered her grandchild end of story.

Should she go to jail? I don't think so but perhaps she should take a drivers education course or do some public service. Charging her does focus public attention on the stupidity of her actions and might make others think about what they do with their children.

Update, now the grandmother is claiming the granddaughter was on the sunroof of her Lexus.

Not sure I wasnt there, but I can visualize a car moving in a parking lot with a young child a top and something still seems strange with the whole picture.

But she did clarify, "I'm a nurse. Ive been married for 30 years. I've got three educated daughters," said Brenda Bouschet, "I've never been in trouble. I don't drink. I don't smoke. I don't do drugs. I'm a good person. I'm a Christian."

Does that make it ok?

if the guy with the finger up his nose is talking about me, when i said "at least she knew where the kid was", i take it all back if the child was standing up peeking through the moon roof of her oma's.....

lexus.

and the grand mother was just defending her moral character by telling us about her background.

and i was joking when i said she probably strapped the kid to the top of the car, like chevy chase did to grandma in her rocker taking her on vacation.

How ignorant and stupid of this woman. Why, on earth, would you even consider the notion, of doing something like that? What could ever possibly make a person think that this was okay and safe to do? I'm glad she was locked up, just for being plain stupid!noway noway noway noway noway noway noway noway noway noway noway noway noway

I've always wanted to be strapped to the top of car and be driven around. Its a free country, let the woman do as she pleases =D

There aren't enough cells in the country to lock up everyone who is stupid.

Back in the day a man was driving down a busy highway near Boston when his baby flew off the roof(in a safety seat where he had placed her and forgotten)and landed in the middle of traffic. The baby was okay and that particular brand of car seat saw sales soar.I don't remember Dad being punished though.
Anyway ,grammy maybe needs some cognitive testing though her comments sound like a fear of jail rather then an excuse for what she did.

well hell yes she was afraid of jail. i think everyone on this site should spend the night in jail.
noway
she made a mistake and somehow that kid got on the top of the roof and went for a ride. how it stayed on, only god knows. crazy glue.noway
then, does she need driver's education classes? well don't ask me because i think it is a grand idea to strap all kids to the top of the car, and the more they scream, the faster grandma's go.laugh laugh laugh
