 Have you ever been afraid to open up to someone that likes you because you were worried that they would be disapointed once they got to know you better? How does someone deal with that?

everytime i talk to someone new i have this problem...always worried they are goingto be disappointed...just keep hanging in there hoping to find the right one

If they already like me, then opening up is only going to increase that. And then they're going to want to move in, and I suddenly have to come down with a case of something disturbing, like Asparagus Pop-Tarts. |

Not really fear of rejection ,more like a fear of disappointing. I know, its weird but thats what im feeling.

Disappointed, no.. worried that they wouldn't have the same interest in me, yes. I can only be myself and well, if they don't like that, then they aren't for me. I will never try to portray someone I'm not. ::shrug::

You cant let fear rule who you are. If they are disapointed after learning more about you they are not worthy. You and everyone on here deserves someone that is excepting of them, just the way they are. |

Yep. Just be yourself. And try not to worry about it. It they don't like your odd quirks, then they probably won't like you. Might as well let them know early on.

Thanks for the advice Moondark I dont really think I have any odd quirks, I'm just afraid I won't be able to live up to their expectations of me. More araid of letting someone down than being rejected.
