What do you know about love that other people just don't seem to grasp? ..very powerful question...supposedly, there are three types of love..( i can be mistaken..not certain on this ) 1. brotherly love 2.godly love..or sacrificial depending on perspective..3.sexual love...1&3 are easy...at least in my opinion...2 is the hardest....the old adage " when you love someone, let them go" - cliche yes, but relevant and extremely hard to do...I think there are a very few people that have done that or would do that in the truest sense of the meaning....so back to the question..."what do I know about love that other people just don't seem to grasp.." -- that I forfeited the certainty of marriage to the girl of my dreams because I knew at the time that I would be unable to provide for her as she should be provided for...that she is gone forever... What do you know about love that other people just don't seem to grasp? i know that love is painful and if you dont want to get hurt to stay as far from it as possible but if your a gluton for punishment like me you keep jumping into the game and get shot down a lot

What do you know about love that other people just don't seem to grasp? That loving someone shouldn't take anything away from either of you...but should add something to both. Some people (more often women than men...and more often women my age than those younger) give up who they are/deny their own needs and aspirations to keep a failing relationship going...it doesn't work. In the end you've lost both the relationship & the one thing you could count on - yourself.
